Hi,Does anyone know if there is an unaccompanied baggage company counter at Suvarnabhumi airport?  If so, what is the company - would like to check rates on the internet, if possible.Did a search, but all the related posts are from 2006 :/Thanks

Yes there is one but I don't know if they have a website.

Should be some more recent posts than 2006 because I remember this question coming up last year.

100 baht per bag per 24 hour period or part thereof. It's at the back of the departure hall on the right hand side, quite a small doorway so it's easy to miss.

I've heard that there's another one somewhere else as well, but I haven't used that one.

Look for the 'Left Luggage' signs or ask at the information desk.

I think you meant to post in the 'Left Luggage" thread?

Unaccompanied baggage is NOT left luggage.

^that may be the 2006 posts the OP was referring to.

But at least there's a couple of 'phone number if they still work!

The office is located at the end of check in rows E/F (Air Asia check in rows) but I've never actually seen it open.

Thanks for the responses.  I tried calling the airport call centre last night and spoke to someone that spoke English.  They confirmed that there is an unaccompanied baggage counter on lvl 2 that charges 100 baht / kilo.  However this sounds like it refers to Left Baggage, as someone else pointed out.  100 baht / kilo sounds way too cheap for international shipping.

I'll keep looking.  Might even get someone Thai to call the airport.

Cheers.

BurpingApe- did you find the counter? What were the rates? Would quite like to use this serviec if possible, don't want to go all the way to the airport if it's not open/working though. Thanks.

I'll be at the airport later today.

There's usually fliers outside their office as it's never open so I'll grab one if I can, or try to find their 'phone number.

I think we are confused here and are possibly talking two different functions here.
Yes there are two "Left Luggage" places in Suvarmabhumi where you can temporarily store baggage for a few days, IF that is what you are referring to. An American MIGHT also refer to this as "unaccompanied baggage" because "Left Luggage" is a British/European terminology.
Or are you referring to baggage shipped into country on a flight by a passenger who was not on that same flight?
That is what the airlines refer to as "unaccompanied baggage".
Certainly there would be an office at Suvarmabhumi for that. It is a customs department function. I don't know exatly where it is located however. I would suggest the airline would have that information...or at least point you to where you could start looking.
If that is what you are looking for there are agents in Bangkok who do that sort of thing...picking up baggage and dlivering it...for a fee, of course.
Or you can go to the airport and pick it up yourself...once you find out where.
Remember, that you will need to pay customs duty, if any, yourself.
:D

All airlines offer different unaccompanied baggage rates; typically these are based on cargo prices which are based on route/distance (and weight, obviously). I've seen some rates, for unaccompanied baggage, which reference 50% of cargo price. Further, some airlines do not accept unaccompanied baggage.

You need to contact the airline directly for a quote.

Also note that there are many Thais who are in the business of transporting (accompanied) baggage. I'm not sure how you contact them but I suspect their rates are reasonable. I only heard about this standing at an adjacent check-in counter at LAX where a Thai person was checking 20 bags, and she shared a few details of the operation.
