My girlfriend had an accident 6 weeks ago - the insurance company & the repair shop have still not authorised repair, it's a first class policy & they took photographs over 5 weeks ago. When I chased them up last week they said that they needed more photographs!!! They could not answer me when I asked them why it had taken them 5 weeks to advise me the original photos were insufficent!! Is there an independent ombudsman & is it worth contacting them?

Would suggest the first thing you do is talk to your Broker - they can usually get to the bottom of things quickly

I use Safety Insurance and they approve everything for the repairs immediately, really great service. The company is now owned by NRMA in Australia.

I had an accident with my Proton Persona before returning it to my ex and Falcon Insurance approved everything right on the spot. And when my ex contacted the repair shop and the insurance, they agreed to follow through because the car's in her name and it's a first class insurance.
