Just an update on applications for a 1 year Multi Entry Non-O (Marriage) Visa at the Jakarta Embassy.

Just got my passport back from the agent, no problems, application was submitted on 6th December and collected on the 8th.

Submitted the usual documents:

    Passport
Application form plus 2x passport photos
    Marriage certificate plus photocopy
Photocopy of wife's ID (front + back)
    Photocopy of the Tabian Bahn
Bank book with funds of more than Thb100,000
    Letter from the wife
    USD200
Note that the visa application cost has risen from USD175 to USD200.

Thank you for your detailed report, Stocky. I have two minor questions, for the record:

  • Were the copies of your wife's ID card and house registration book (tabian baan) signed by her?

  • Does the Jakarta consulate require payment of the visa fee in US currency? Did you pay it in cash or with a credit card?

1. No, neither were signed, though the letter politely asking they issue the visa was.
2. Yes, the fee was paid as USD200 cash, though I have no idea if that was at the Embassy's insistence or the agent's initiative.

Thanks. So there are helpful agents in Jakarta, too.

I used the company's agent, they charged approximately USD20 plus travelling expenses, in total around USD30.
I'm in Sumatra on business, so haven't time to go to the embassy myself.
