Tops was going downhill very fast.
Set up by Ahold company a dutch company running Albert Hein stores, been taken over by Central few years ago seems they have difficulties with quality and quantity even as general running of there stores( opening and refill on time, HACCP control, cleaning and staff attendance. I know that they got some new knowledgeable people on board so hope that will change. For the moment Foodland and Villa Market to purchase my fresh food items. #3Posted 2011-12-17 06:21:05
Getting supplies on the shelves has been extremely difficult for Tops (and all the other stores under the Central name) since the flooding hit their central distribution centre north of Bangkok. And, when a product finally appears it disappears from the shelves almost as quickly as it goes on because people tend to stock up on a product when they know it is in short supply.
It will probably take months and months before the supply chain is back to normal for this particular chain. Other than diet soda's, it seems that Top's competitors have ample stock of almost everything. #4Posted 2011-12-17 08:11:38
