Rayong province locals were surprised and came in large numbers to see a huge whale shark near Mae Rampeung beach, Rayong province. The marine mammal was collecting plankton and small fish.

Rayong, December 7, 2011[PDN]; Mr. Phuchong Saritdeechaikul, the director of Ocean and Beach Resource Conservation Center in Rayong province, reported that a whale shark was spotted in Mae Rampeung beach Tapong district in Rayong province.

The officers of the Eastern Maritime Research Center, Rayong found the shark one mile away from the beach at Mae Rampeung. The whale shark measured circa 7 meters, weighed more than 1,000 kg with a grey body, yellow-white dots and black dorsal and lateral fins.

Whale's are Fish, Bats are Birds and now Sharks are Mammals, amazing Thailand.

Anyone get the impression they got the sentence dreadfully wrong aswell ??

You are complete wrong:
Everything in the water is either "taste good" or "taste not good".
Mammals or fish is a pure western classification and does not apply to Thai fishes.

Many divers wait their whole lives to see a whale shark in the wild.

And they are a harmless fish.
