Greetings

Within a week time I will arrive at Suvbhum airport by a domestic flight and got a connection for an International flight. At first the waiting time was only 3 hours but i just got a notification that the flight is delayed for at least 14 hours.

Since i have another 16 hours of flight time ahead of me i do feel like taking a nap/shower before starting the international flight I am thinking to stay in some hotel in the nearby area IF possible. Can anyone recommend me a <1000 baht hotel in the direct area of the airport?  I obviously don't feel like sitting in some metal chair and wait there for 14 hours :)

Thanks in advance,

You'll find a few around Lat Krabang. Shouldn't be more than 1,000 baht. Very much no frills, but have hot shower, air con and cable TV.

I've stayed at SP Inter and also Siam Place - they are more than adequate for a brief stopover, or an overnight with an early morning departure. Both these paces also include airport shuttle service in the price.

I stay at Thong Ta Resort which I think is around 850 Baht.

It has a good free shuttle service to/from Swampy about 10 mins away (Lad Krabang). Rooms are comfortable, restaurant is weak but there an increasing number of restaurants, bars and Thai kitchens in the area.

Later  - Agoda are showing 700 Baht for next week (Asia Rooms have it at 867 Baht.

Agree about Thong Ta Resort. I've used it three times in the last couple of years. Free shuttle from, and back to the airport. Tea/coffee maker in room.

Bar/restaurant 100 metres away - open 24 hours !

Thanks for all the replies.  2500 for just a nap and shower is a bit too much.  I will arrive 6 or 7am and depart in the evening.  As for the cheaper options, ill have a look on the net, 850 or somewhere in that range suits me better.

I do have an additional question. is it possible to store a suitcase at the airport?

There is a baggage store (left luggage to us Brits) near check in Q at the back near Family Mart? and the toilets.

100 Baht per case.

I stayed at Thong Ta in November. It was pretty good apart from the fact that they'd run out of beer  :o

I am sure you managed to find the 7/11 that is 150 metres away ! :)

(or the many bars nearby or the Family Mart around the corner)

Airport itself has some short-stay (day)-rooms you pay for IIRC by a block of hours.

Regarding the luggage storage,  i assume that they first need to scan the suitcase?   Storing luggage just like that in an airport seems a bit of a security risk.    100 baht for 1 is fine,   its just 14 hours.    However, airport rooms might be a better solution. Ill see if i can find something about the prices :)
