You guys were serious! I have been back a week and have yet find a diet coke. I love drinking one
first thing in the morning for some reason. I heard second hand from tourist frinds in town that Diet Coke is freely available in the Platinum Lounge at Le Meridien. Maybe in the next life.. #52Posted 2012-01-23 15:45:32
Big C On Nut today at 12:00 have many 1.25 litre bottles of Pepsi Max.

Just returned from up north- Found Coke Zero in 1.25L bottles, smaller bottles and cans at the
Tesco/Lotus in Mae Sai. Somehow the supplies get all the way to the far north and bypass Chiang Mai OR are they bringing it in from Burma? #57Posted 2012-01-29 14:46:13
Rather than starting a new thread, for fizzy lemonades, I will just mention that Tesco-Kantiam had a stock of Nam-Saprite on-the-shelves, Friday-morning. Also fizzy-orange & Nam-Dang, and regular-Coke, but still no Coke-Zero in bottles.
Surely this must, two months after the floods receded and with other brands reappearing, be due to a supply-problem with the ingredients or packaging for Coke-Zero, rather than the whole bottling-plant still being closed ? Apropos of nothing, I was delighted to find, when on a short-visit to Malaysia recently, that Cherry-Coke & Doctor-Pepper & Doctor-Pepper Cherry-Vanilla were all available at about 30B/can. So how come it's only occasionally-available here, and at twice the price ? I know, TiT. #58Posted 2012-01-29 16:14:37
Ever googled coke v water...interesting,guess it applies to Pepsi too Well water is defiantly needed. A friend of mine is confined to less than liter and a half a day. If he drinks more than that it will wash the sodium out of his body. Wonder if that is why I get cramps I drink 2 to 3 liters a day and about a liter and a quarter of Pepsi Max when I can get it. I all ready have a stash of coke zero good for at least a month and still within the use before date. Wonder why they don't have a do not use after date. #59Posted 2012-01-29 20:48:22
Gave up and tried Coca-Cola mixed with Chang Soda Water at 50/50 ratio. Not bad.

Hi all, Tops in Chang Phueak near the Sports Stadium have stacks of the 6 can cases of Coke Zero. There were loads there yesterday. You can also find them in Tesco Express in Santhitam not far from there. They don't seem to be disappearing quickly or anything, I've still yet to find Diet Coke though. Still, the zero stuff is sufficing nicely.
Cheers #62Posted 2012-02-03 12:22:53
We flew down to Phuket for the weekend to get away from the influx of tourist - And low and behold the place is awash in Diet Coke!!!

yes, well, reading the article, the lead researcher says this: Ms Gardener said: 'Our results suggest a potential association between daily diet soft drink consumption and vascular outcomes. 'The mechanisms by which soft drinks may affect vascular events are unclear.' She added, however, that the mechanisms by which soft drinks may affect 'vascular events' are not clear, and that more research was needed into the subject before significant conclusions could be drawn about the health consequences of soft drink consumption. underline and bold are my emphasis, not the article... so in conclusion, give me more money to research... Can't make any sense out of it.
Coke Zero hit and miss. Found a can of Pepsi Max the other day with a best before date of May 25 One isolated can. In Tops airport yesterday and they had a decent supply of Pepsi /Twist. No Pepsi Max or Coke Zero. Is there a reason the two bottlers are holding up production of the two popular drinks. As has been pointed out they are producing it but in no where near the quantity they used to. Is Ihere more profit in the non diet drink? Rimping by the river had cherry coke at 55 baht a can. #67Posted 2012-02-07 08:35:02
No idea up there in CM, but have taken note down here in what was the flooded area....
Tesco Lotus has cans of Diet Cola, but no bottles, Same in all the Tesco Express shops, 7/11 and 'Jiffy' shops do not appear to have any Coke or Pepsi of any kind and there drinks machines are off still..... ? They do have lots of The Big Coke' Makro in 5 different stores No Diet Coke or Pepsi Max......... All the Big C stores I have visited appear to have lots of Pepsi Max + no restrictions on how many pack you can buy. In November had to move out or rather ordered out by Army, drove down south, in Phuket Pepsi Max was 35 baht per bottle !!! here now in Big C Pepsi Max has gone up different stores diffident prices but around 23 or 24 baht per bottle, before 21 or 22 baht depending which store.. #68Posted 2012-02-07 23:24:47
Tesco Kantiam had 60+ 1.25-litre bottles of Coke-Zero on Monday, hopefully things are slowly returning to normal ?
