Going to KL to get a non-immigrant B visa has anyone had recent experience with how long the process takes?  I know that the tourist visas are usually a drop off one day, pick up the next day type of thing and am wanting to know if it is like this or?

Was there last week to get a Non-B multi visa. The opening times for applications are 9-30 - 11-30 am, I got there shortly before 9-00 already there were 10 -15 people there, once the gates are opened the security guard will write the details down of your passport, you proceed into the compound and wait 10 mins for the doors to open to the main building, when they do there will be a mad rush to go in and get a queue ticket. Wait for your number, once called go to the desk and hand over your paper work with 550 MYR ( Multi ) 220 MYR( Single ), the girl behind the counter will give you a receipt and any paperwork she doesn't require.

Collection of visa next day between 14-30 and 16-30, again lots of people waiting outside before 14-30, once in go to the main building where they will open the doors, do not bother with a queue ticket just go straight to counter 4 and hand over your receipt from the day before and they will hand you back your passport with ( hopefully ) the visa you requested.

Hope that helps

Thanks - that was exactly the information that I was looking for.  All up it sounds like a pretty straightforward thing.

Do remember at KL that it is apply Monday to Friday mornings (excepting both Thai and Malaysian Bank Holidays), then pick up in the afternoon on the next working day; so if normally you apply on a Friday then you pick up on a Monday.
