do you have a health insurance?

I move this topic to the insurance forum where you probably get better answers.

Was there an another party involved and was it their fault, then you can claim it from them.

You say you have a work permit, so the question is if you pay social insurence in which case you might be covered under that scheme for medical costs. Your employer should now, if you don't.

The answer to the previous question might be the Victim Accident Compensation Fund.  It is probably a long shot for a Westerner, but this is how it should work in theory:

http://starbacks.ca/.../insurance.html

http://www.hiso.or.t.../eng2010_24.pdf

I don't think this extends to somebody without motor insurance who is the only party involved, but the information may be of interest to some.
