Sometimes I'll do two at a sitting. Their regular price for just a SML bottle is 69 baht... So for an extra 70 baht, yes, I'll take a good hamburger and french fries any ole day...

Yup... V8 and their outdoor patio is one of my favorite local options these days... And their hamburger actually tastes like an American hamburger.. not a thin, dried-out sliver like most of the fast food places. The fries are good, and a full order in size. And a SML to wash it all down.

Hey JFC (aka, tallguy;) ), the fenix buffet is 169 baht or something right-hard to complain about that!
Re burgers, dukes, home run would rank up there for me. Did someone mention fudruckers? Yummy! Merry christmas, may your size 14 stocking be full of french fries, onion rings, chicken wings and coleslaw. #28Posted 2011-12-25 08:58:04
Holiday cheers also to you, James, and everyone else around these parts.... BTW, you forgot to include a decent hamburger in my stocking.... How about trading that for the chicken wings....
Re the LeFenix... yes, you're right about the pricing for their lunch buffet... it's under 200 baht per person at present including a soft drink choice... Note, I didn't say it was bad...it's not... I just said I wasn't impressed, even on a sliding value for price scale. Particularly because their lunch buffet is supposed to focus heavily on an all-you-can eat selection of about a dozen different burgers, along with pasta choices... OK.. that's fine... But, the burgers they serve up are the mini/slider kind (which is fine), but they're just not so good or even live up to their menu descriptions. That's what left me not impressed. At about 224 baht per person, the lunch buffet at the Holiday Inn's Cafe G at Ploenchit serves up a better variety and better quality of food choices.... No burgers, but a nice make your own caesar salad bar, and a pasta bar where you can pick your own noodles, accompanying sauce and flavorings. All in all, I think I'll look to satisfy my burger cravings elsewhere. BTW, here's the menu card for LeFenix's offering... Note that most of the burgers on their list aren't actually beef hamburgers, but various other varieties... And also, needless to say, though they're certainly not alone in this, their actual servings don't look anything even remotely similar to their illustrations.

people are paying more for the BK lounge than a burger at Duke's? these are indeed the last days. Chokchai have burger stands in some food courts btw. the Tops at Central Lad Prao has one, and i think the one a Paragon does too. well worth a try.
as for the BK lounge, i suppose you could argue that i may be missing out by not trying it but hey i'm willing to live with the consequences. #32Posted 2012-02-03 22:48:55
Got this one in BKK yet?

once I was at sunrise tacos wolfin' down a plate about 11 am waiting for the DHL office to open and at the V8 place across the way I didn't see any activity, bein' lunchtime...do they (V8) have special hours?...
an' I like american V8 vegetable juice (' 2 servings of vegetables in every can!'...so they say...) an' I'd fire down a can and then curl up asleep wid me cuddly... #34#36Posted 2012-02-21 14:28:30
tried the angus burger at cm airport. its alright, not that i will go all the way for it but i find it pleasant. but again, i belongs to the group of people that find big mac tasty. i don't hunt good burgers, so i cant say much, i do eat at mike's and dukes, but i cant say that the burgers are any much better. maybe they are not better in the first place, i dont know.
but the onions rings that came with the angus burger are horrifying shlt, should had stayed with the standard fries. taste like soften cardboard rings coated with cardboard shredding. yucks, i usually finish all my food but not in this case Edited by barefoot1988, 2012-02-21 14:29:13. #37Posted 2012-02-21 23:23:56
Hello All, I had the burger at the top, in the picture, at The Mall Korat in the Hyper Mart.
This is one of the best I've eaten in LOS, well worth the Bt. The wife enjoyed the hers as well. rice555 Attached Files#38Posted 2012-03-04 05:46:25
Man if I could open up an In -N - Out in BKK it would be a license to print money!! Here in the states sometimes you will see a Carls Jr, BK, McD etc across the street from an In N Out....those places are packed and IN N Out has lines out the door!

One problem. In N Out uses good fresh beef and where would they get good fresh beef in Thailand?

and tutsi remembers as a little lad in late 50s Pasadena and the first In-N-Out burger place on Foothill Blvd...I was with my aunt and my cousin who scorned MacDonalds and we got a bag of burgers and it smelled sooo good...but auntie said: 'settle down tutsi, there shall be plenty when we get home...'
and then there were plates and knives and hamburger decorum and all I wanted to do was to devour and then I set to and auntie said: 'tutsi, slow down...no one is gonna take it away from you...' tutsi and In-N-out burgers in late 1950's Pasadena...there has to be a movie treatment somewhere...aunt Miguelina who lives in Cochabamba in Bolivia and is now 95 years old...and she certainly remembers Pasadena and In-N-Out burgers... #41Posted 2012-03-11 05:29:34
burger king and mcdonalds, you can only expect consistency, but overall quality? if you are ever travelling to Sankhlaburi, you have to eat a not yet world famous, FAT BASTARD BURGER, it is available from the BIRDLAND BOOKSHOP, proper bread roll, fresh salad and a namesake beef/pork burger patty, and of course a cold CHANG to enjoy after the experience....... mmmmm
