The Nuvi 765 has a Trip Log. Unless you cleared the log, the last 10,000 data points are stored in memory. To enable touch Tools > Settings > Map > Trip Log. If you specifically stored routes they are also retained in memory.

thanks IO, yet the trip log only memorises the last trip.  could I able to see other previous trips as well ?

also the trip log shows the last location at the centre of the half-screen map, when zoom out I couldnot see much information.

To view current Trip Log you need to touch Tools > Settings > Map > Trip Log > Show > Ok and then View Map on main screen.

To view previous Track Logs you need to connect your Nuvi 765 to a computer and dowload the current.gpx file. Open the current.gpx file with a track/map viewing program that you download off the internet and select the appropriate track..

You can open a GPX file from within Google Earth: File --> Open, then double-click the desired GPX file.

brilliant !! thanks IO and Maestro, this is more than I exptected ! the current.gpx and other numbered gpx files actually tracked in animated routes with date/time information of each trip, from the very first test drive of the Garmin !  all the favourites in the Garmin also listed as the waypoints.

switching Google Earth to a map mode even better, I actually see how long I stuck in the traffic or the traffic light :-)

exciting, and this will keep me busy in coming days !

p.s.
this is not something for your wife, gf, bf or husband :-)

Great information about viewing trip logs from the Garmin GPS in Google Earth - and also Mapsource and/or Basecamp.
