does anybody know, what Time the big Bus leaves from Trat to Pattaya?

I came to Trat with an overbooked Minibus and I would like to avoid this Experience

When I was there a few weeks ago the ticket staff at the bus station told me 5am.

or go to Chonburi and take a government back to Pattaya was the other option.

Bus transport from Pattaya to Trat and / or back sucks and is a real tourism disincentive.

There's a big bus between Trat and Pattaya? I am sure it's just mini-buses only which are all over the place or go to Chonburi and get a Bangkok bus coming through to Trat

There is regular bus service from Pattaya to Trat.  It probably does many stops along the way, but there are several that do this route.  Find the local bus station.  Here in Pattaya, there are several!
