Me I think it is better, much easier with this new look as on the left you simply slick on 'Just items I follow' bring up all the item you replied to and is in bright colour if new and dim is already read....... yes much better as on some posts you would have 50 + emails in you 'inbox' of your email to me that was a pain..
On each thread is 'Follow topic' or click to un-follow also much better. Edited by ignis, 2012-01-05 10:26:43. #3Posted 2012-01-06 11:06:32

Previously you had ability to specify exactly what notifications you wanted for each condition AND how often to receive each notice. You did not need 50 emails, you could reduce "instant notification" to "daily digest" and for specific conditions. If this was taken away, I would like it back. If not, i need directions on how to make it happen again. #4Posted 2012-01-06 11:08:28
It's a confirmed bug, caused by a stubborn cron script. Tech guys has been notified.

It's a confirmed bug, caused by a stubborn cron script. Tech guys has been notified. Cheers Ok, today I got the daily digest. The email itself has some formatting issues: 1) The link to the post does not direct you to the "newest" post of the topic thread. The link only takes you to the top of the topic thread. 2) unsubscribe link is missing, or the wording is incorrect. It should read: To unsubscribe, visit the thread and click "unsubscribe/unfollow topic" Not sure if other types of email notifications have similar formatting issues. (like a quoted email should direct link to the post that was quoted AND the post that quoted the thread. edit: some daily digests I did not get from posts that I started yesterday. But posts that were older I got replies up to yesterday. Maybe a check to find out when cutoff time for new post to receive digest. Depending on when the cron job is done, the latest replies should be within 5-10 minutes of when the email is generated (when cron job starts for my username). I'm not sure the delay between email generation and sending, but I could only imagine instantly or within a minute or two after. The link only takes you to the top of the topic thread. Yes .... but them just click on the box 'Go to First unread post' takes you to where you left off last time. [most times] #7Posted 2012-01-25 14:49:00
any progress on the daily digests / quote emails? i haven't gotten one for over 10 days now.

Ok. For the last couple of days, I've been getting instant emails whenever someone quotes me, even indirectly (within someone else quote). For direct quotes, this is a good thing.
The daily digest is still a no-go at all for about 2 weeks now. #10Posted 2012-02-07 20:00:00
I am getting quoted replies instantly, but: The name/title of thread is not there. it will only say "[username] quoted a post you made" in subject. The body does not specify the thread title, or always show the quote (only the reply). so i am sometimes lost as to what the quote is referring to. Speaking of formatting issues, all emails that provide a generic link to thread (likw daily digest) should default to unread posts, so he iser can pick up where they left off. Daily digests starded coming in for 3 days straight. Maybe wait a week before saying problem fixed? "2nd best time to plant a tree is today." Sent from ThaiVisa app. #11Posted 2012-02-07 20:52:27
This bug has been corrected in the next version of the forum software. Please be patient, we are all waiting for it.

I know it's largely out of your hands, but do you have any idea when this patch will be applied? I think the last email notification I received was in late 2011. I know this feature periodically breaks, but this is the longest time I can remember the notifications have been not sending.

It is fixed in next software version scheduled for late Q1 or early Q2.
