Hey ladies,

I just got married yesterday to my Thai guy! Posted Image

Just wondered if any of you could tell me about my surname change now. They asked at the Amphur if I wanted my surname changed to his and I said yes. So what happens next?! Do I have to inform anyone of this? British Embassy? We are staying in Thailand for the next few months and applying for settlement visa for hubby. Hope to fly back to England in May. Am I OK to travel on my passport with maiden name?

Any info welcome, Thanks!!

Yes, you need to change it at the Embassy or UK anyway, its not down to the Thai govt to give you a new name. :)

I waited to change mine in the US - was alot easier to do bank accounts, drivers license, passport etc that way. I had to get our marriage certificate translated into English I believe (but its been a really really long time so best check with your Embassy on that one).
