I saw it steaming off of Karon a few days ago and it was far away, but still looked to be at least 60 metres if not bigger, but it was too far away to glean any details.

I believe it's this one http://sailboats.wor...oot-mega-yacht/
or better information http://yachtpals.com/mega-yacht-a-9129 Named "A" #5Posted 2012-01-11 12:14:08
Maybe the large cruise ships are staying far out to sea and transporting the passengers into Phuket by submarine. This way, they can sneak up to the pier without the tuk tuk drivers seeing a ship and blockading them.

It's the "A"

That's one very ugly mega yacht..
I liked this quote - ' It has been reported that the mega yacht A burns up to 700 gallons per hour while cruising, and that a fill-up can run nearly half a million US dollars. Talk about A-hole in the water to pour money into!' #8Posted 2012-01-11 13:45:55
I'm sure most of the fill ups are done in countries where petrol is cheap as chips, Venezuela, Middle East etc. Looks gaudy inside too, but hey, it's his money.

Looks like it could handle some pretty rough seas though with the hull design.. Isn't this guy an oil tycoon anyways? Probably not too concerned with fueling up he probably has a Russian tanker that shadows his trips everywhere. I would if I had that money that would also help him avoid having to pull into ports they didn't want to and avoid any hostile waters.

The "A" is currently front of Ao Por. http://aopor.com/new...or-grand-marina
Some sources say that it costs 1 million euros to fill up the tanks on that ship. #11Posted 2012-01-29 11:44:36
It was off Rawai beach yesterday afternoon/evening.

Perhaps its a new CIA stalth sub on a rendition mission to collect the Hezbollah agent recently picked-up by the Thai authorities.

Costs 250 Million Pounds as I was reading in Phuket Websites. That money alone could make 300 People and familys very happy!
The owner Russian Tycoon M....... should be worth 3-4 Billion Dollars, so 10% in the ship! Peanuts- #15Posted 2012-02-03 13:00:55
Considering that MGO and MDO, the fuel that these vessels use is less than a dollar a litre, I very much doubt the claim of a million Euros to "fill 'er up".

Apparently her fuel capacity is 757,000 litres, giving her a range of 6500 miles at a cruising speed of 19.5 knots. Best part of a million dollars for a top up.

Now whe the Navy comes tpo town they can use NukSubs to land a Patong Beach etc. #18Posted 2012-02-06 11:47:00
