I know mussels are easy and cheaptofind, but I am looking for FROZEN GREEN NEWZEALAND MUSSELS.  Location, weight and cost would be appreciated!

I like mussels in my pasta, but am worried whether the ones in the markets are "|safe".

Tanks!

I'm pretty sure these are the ones wifey gets at Makro.  Like you, she loves them with her pasta!

Seen them in Makro and Tesco. Nothing wrong with the local musssels if you know hoe to clean them porperly. I get them for 35 baht/kilo.

I eat local ones too and find them fine. Fry some thin sliced garlic (not minced) over a very very low heat then add the mussles. Very easy dinner to make and cheap too. 5kg of mussles, pasta and a couple of French sticks will serve 6 people with ease at a cost of well under 100 Baht a head.
