sorry i wanted to keep the link going as i am very interested in it.

can people transfer their gun licence from your own country to hear.

can a forang apply in any special cirmonstances.

can forang police have them?

Now i know that forangs can buy them in the center of Bangkok so what about everywhere else.

i mean Bangkok residents have less room to use them.???

As a Farong you can not get a permit to own a gun, But if you are married to a Thai she can get one. If you have a gun on Samui you will most likely end up using it  and  end up in Jail because there are so Many freaking idiots A hole here.....

yes you can have a gun here, completely legally. there was just an article here on TV about this very subject. you must have a WP, house book, "some assets" to protect, go get fingerprinted and have a police background check.

so many times i've heard people say "you can't collect unemployment/social security/have a gun, you're a farang" and they are wrong nearly every time. i say nearly because i don't have my gun permit yet, i'm just going through the process now to get it.

ah the ol' big scary thai man always finds a way into these threads.

poor sucker, that may be factually correct but is a bit misleading. regardless of your salary and level of tax payments made, the most you can expect to collect on a monthly basis from unemployment is 7,500thb. that is unless they've adjusted for inflation recently.

when we 1st opened our resort in 2001 we were broken into and i saw the guy escaping over the wall.  the advice the police gave us was buy a gun and shoot anyone you see climbing over the wall.   As for comments concerning the evils of guns typically do not understand what it is to grwo up in a gun culture the same as I do not understand grwoing up in a knife culture i.e. bali.  Every person I know in the USA owns a gun and not one of them has ever shot anyone.  It is not the gun that is dangerious it is the user.

no use trying to reason here, maccaroni man.

if there was a thread where someone asked where to get a good pizza, these same idiots would complain that we're in thailand so eat thai food. mods should have derailed the complain train the moment it got started.

The laws concerning guns are exactly the same in Samui as they are in Bangkok. Read the article and you will find your facts.

"For foreigners, if you want to buy a gun, you must have a work permit in Thailand, you must have a house registration in Thailand, and you also need to have a check of your criminal record."

Where to buy guns is a different story, no idea. My FIL has a shotgun but he bought it in Bangkok and generally gets his ammunitiion when he goes there.

bkk is where the majority of the licensed gun dealers are located. not only can you buy them there, you can have it shipped to you from another firearms dealer in a different country to a licensed firearm dealer in bkk. then you, as a licensed and completely legal gun owner can pick it up from the shop.

OH! If we are being correct - then . . .

What's a "Forang"? And should one be asking if he can obtain a licence to own a gun? (Although it's amusing that the word "gun" was spelled correctly!)

The whole point of owning a legal gun is because we do not want to brake the law. spelling or genious or not. it does not take a master brain to work it out.

Anyway, back to the point i think that is people do own any gun then they should not show it off to people and only use it when permitted.

I agree if you wave a gun at thai people then you would have problems but in Thailand if the Thai people were trying to do something wrong to you like attack you in your own home then i think that you may have protection with the law. If you go looking for trouble with a gun then i think the the owner of the gun would be in big trouble.

If someone shoots a begger. Then i would guess that if the warning shot did not make him go then he may have some other motive than just to beg.

there again what are beggers doing at the door anyway.

same if someone tried to car jack you.

anway that 1 argument for having a gun.

another is for sport.

i would like to join a gun club. I have seen the thais play a game called killer. fast moving action moving between rooms playing against other teams.

might not me everyone's cup of tea. there again some people like yoga but that is not for me

Sorry, Posted Image

Please correct me. I am open. Am I, perchance, incorrect in my corrections, or are you playing at moderator by letting me know that my post is off-topic?

(And if you reckon it's off-topic then it's a response to an off-topic reply that was both ignorant and incorrect in its assertions - and one that was not removed, even because of this. Don't 'snot me for being upright. Knock the person that introduced the reply that was off-topic in the first place.)

Sorry, but when someone takes the rip out of a dyslexic by correcting his writing, but they themselves can't even write correct English, then I have to kick back. Big C has a reason for his English. What's theirs?

In what way am I "not correct", pray? Do tell? Posted Image

What you do with guns is shoot things. Can't argue. That's what.

The philosophy that comes from this, the mind-set, the whole bag is another question.

BigC was asking about the legalities of this and then (ho ho ) went n shot himself in the foot by trying to explain about his reasons. Off-topic and irrelevant. If he wanted to use it to shoot every fool on the road than that's another story altogether. (And I'll add to that topic myself.)

Answer - buy one under the table. Or get your wife to buy one legally. End of story. If you've asked UR wife about this and she doesn't know/can't do then just forget it. If she can't do then U shure as sh*t you can't!

But then you gotta go shoot things . . . best to stay on UR vid games I think . .
