After my expieriences in November-December 2011, with Tourist-Discos in Patong opened until morning, Tai Pan, Tiger ect. and a lot of more Thai frequented Discos and Karaokes in Phaimuang Soi Khor Road as well and some Bars opened until 4 AM or longer,
the incident in Phuket Town Rassada Bar? with a HISO Thai guy and Hollywood Star Mr. Renner, the Authorities hit back now with earl closing times enforced.
I find it sorry that a lot of people are now forced to go to their rooms if they did not want to do so at about 3 PM.
Only few places you could turn to, one was a big POOL table gaming place at a side Soi of Soi Sansabai.
One Thai man got beaten badly in Phuket town in a Bar, normaly only catering for Thai punters and now the whole island and special the Tourists must suffer!

Actually, it is not too bad. All the drunken guests around here in Nanai come home earlier and no-one is fighting about 4 in the morning or driving up and down the road with these horrible load bikes. If you ask me - I like it. Life is getting better.

Doesn't bother me in the least! It has been the law for years and that law that is finally being enforced. I wish they would enforce a few others! The closing time is 2 AM. Same as where I came from many years ago...

Same as where I came from many years ago... agreed a decade ago in Patong they closed 2am. We started partying at 8pm, or earlier. Then some started paying to keep open, inflation and most paid to remain open. Hope they are willing to do what it takes to get it back on rails In Th nightvenues close 2am, thats what the poplulation wants. Only go as far as the 15km to Phuket town, and most close 2am sharp. Lights on, pay your bills and go #9

Acting like a pompous A-hole in front of your Hollywood entourage and throwing the glass down and making a ruckus, o.k., now the not so hi-so working guys there might dish it out. How long do you live here? Did you notice that Patong is a NIGHTS and MORNINGS place similar to Pattaya? Remembers me to people who built their homes on cheap land around existing Formula 1 Circuits in Austria and later complained about the noise! Tried to close down the circuit activities and its nearly dayly training sessions. One poster ment, "a decade ago more quiet", possible, early closing times under Thaksin rule and once a Muslim interior minister, than another crazy one! No positive improvement under these two guys! (Lot of people in that days in front of 7/11s around Bangla buying Alcohol and drinking on the road, was that better? Hundreds of people on the road at once, some Hooligans and can be trouble here to.) I come to Patong since 1990 and was good under Chuan Lekpai, late 90is beginning 2000 rule. 1998, I go for motobike rides at 7:30 Am and some punters had been still sitting in the than -VIENNA BAR- now TAI PAN. No problem so! Who is a drunk and a guy who is out for trouble, will make that problem also before 2 or 3 AM and will have more frustration for the forced exit out of the Disco on the way home! Frustration which can bring also trouble! Open Bars in Soi Sansabai,on Friday? possible, but Soi Bangla and side Sois mostly closed 3-3:30 AM Yes, make more security, but not crazy guys with axes!!! But let the people do in their holyday how they prefer. If I want hang out until sunset let me do so and if there are enough people the Bars, Discos will stay open, if not they close anyway. Nearly only Tourists and Expats and Thai nightworkers around in Patongs Bangla circle, why early closing times. Really hardened Sex Tourists, will suffer, why? They have no big interest in long party and lose more money in Bar and Disco. They grab a girl or two and go for it! I would assume there is more into it, like the axeman/boy loosing face, but whatever it is, for xx armed "securityguards" to attack an unarmed man and try to kill him, there is no excuse neither is it for the business to allow axes and similar weapons handled by minors, employed as "securitguards". at this venue or the others I just mentioned getting closing times back to 2 am will in addition to more peace and quiet, bring these venues back to the mortal side. Presently they and all their employees believe they are far above the law as they pay to be so. Patong has become nasty after 3am. #16

A decade ago it was partytime evening and night until 2 am, perhaps followed by some drinks on the beach. It wasnt more quiet at all, on the contary where are all the partygoers now at 9pm? Funny to see Hundreds even Thousands of people wandering in and around Soi Bangla after the enforced early closing times 2 - 2:30PM not knowing what to do and where to turn.
Similar to about 10 years ago under Thaksins Interiorministers. Better 1997 - 1998 Vienna Bar now Tai Pan until 8 AM.

Well had my first night out in Patong for quite a while last Friday and the 2am closing time was disappointing.
By the time I have finished work, had a shave and shower eaten some food and then got a Tuk Tuk to Patong it is about 10-11pm. I had 3 hours drinking and then the place was closing up. Barely worth the hassle. Ended up in a "lock in" in Kamala, was like being in the UK when they had the 11pm pub closing times... #20

I not go out long dayly, but when I go, also with Long time GF who likes to dance the night away, I want to go as long as I want. I would like the Bars closing, because of not enough business, not because of a law, enforced because a single incident happened in Phuket town in a mostly from Thais frequented Bar!
