Between 10,000 and 14,0000 in the higher end hospitals. Prices will increase if they have to use contrast solution. There are places that specialize in only MRI's, but my opinion is that the potential savings are not worth the hssle of going to two different places for the same condition.
#7Posted 2012-01-31 13:50:03 Quote an folks please post recent pricing for MRI's along with what hospital and where? Lumbar spine to be specific, but a comparison of any MRI's would be insightful Are you sure asking for MRI-and not for CT-prices? MRI = resonance imaging CT = computer tomography To explain the difference in very very simple words: MRI - a strong magnetic field is applied Especially used for differentiated imaging of soft tissue like inner organs (no x-rays!) CT - x-rays are applied (!) Especially used for imaging of stronger tissue like bones As you ask for “lumbar spine” should your question not concern prices for CT? Last September I had an upper abdomen CT in RAM Hospital, Chiang Mai. 8.000 THB for CT 100 THB for diagnostic #8Posted 2012-01-31 18:31:27
the 9,000 baht was for thai wife.

Last Year: I underwent a CT scan with contrast solution to diagnose a pulmonary embolism (in Singapore - Cost unknown). MRI investigation of the spine is common. I had one in October at BNH in BKK. It cost around 14000-15000 and it was an open style machine. They did the imaging of my lower back. I had a herniated disc between L3-L4.

BNH now has an open-style MRI machine? (Not CAT scan...?) Hurray! In August 2010, I was at BNH in agony with a ruptured disk, but my claustrophobia freaked me out so much they could not send me through their tunnel-style MRI and they had to transport my to another hospital (Urupong Medical Center) where there was an open-style MRI. #13Posted 2012-02-07 21:00:10
