I am after from the good people of Thai Visa any recommended Bangkok based car rental company
.
A car rental mob that-

1. Wont rip me off
2. Provide good reliable vehicles.

I will be requiring the car from mid February for approx 2 weeks to drive up and around the north east region.

Thanks.

almost ALL reputable international companies have promotion rates. Avis, Hertz, Budget. Buy a BANGKOK POST tomorrow and read the ads ! or check their websites.
at the moment I know of: AVIS 690 THB per day, HERTZ 650 THB per day.
I am sure Budget has a good pre-paid rate as well.

If you rent for 2 weeks, you may even be able to drop the car in the North-east for no extra fee, if you want that - I had free drop off at different location with Avis and Budget sometimes even for rentals of just 4-5 days.
Asking doesn't hurt......

I have used Highway Car rental for the last year on and off. Rock up, give them 2k deposit in cash, copy of passport and my house address (flight details if you are tourist) and off you go. Wrote one of their cars off once (sorry, but I snarled up peak north bound Ratchada traffic even more on that day...yes that was me) and they sent their insurance guy told me to jump onto the MRT to their office, got new car straight away> I like the fact that no matter what the max it will cost you is 2k,, and it was only when I totalled a car that they took the 2k. www.highway.co.th/
