I met a guy yesterday at a resort, we got chatting over a beer...
He's used up his 30 day exemption and was planning to head up to Mae Sai for a quick 15 day stamp (his flight out's on the 16th).
His "admitted until" date was Saturday 4th and he wanted to pop up to Mae Sai on Sunday (his gf works Saturdays).
I coundn't honestly answer whether he could do that, and he decided to go Saturday... Now I'm wondering if I gave him a bum steer and he could've gone on Sunday. You have to leave within 24 hours of your "admitted until" date, right? So he could've gone on Sunday? Or he's supposed to leave by midnight on his "admitted until" date?

The 'Admitted Until' date is just that, you are allowed to stay until that date.
If he left on the 5th he would have attracted a 500 Baht fine, that first day is only 'free' if you leave by air and you still get the overstay stamp. #3Posted 2012-02-03 16:34:18
Interesting... Could've sworn I left once on a Monday last year when my admitted until date was Sunday, and didn't get a stamp - hence the confusion... Pure fluke I guess... Thanks for the quick answer...
