Sorry, mate. It looks like we'll have to do without (no lobsters for you, no sheep milk for me).
Pity though #3Posted 2012-02-04 08:43:25
Only painted lobster available here anyway.Expensive and not very good eating.
You need to travel to cooler climes to find the good ones, NZ or Australia. #4Posted 2012-02-04 08:52:32
Several shops in the US that will ship live Maine lobster, but it’s going to cost you a fortune…How hungry are you?

Best time to buy Maine lobsters is in October.
They are cheap at that time. Although of course, shipping them express is what will cost the small fortune. I've already gotten them for as low as $3.49 a pound (if you know where to go and use a AAA credit card) (gets you an additional 10% off) They are the soft shell's but just as tasty (if not better than the hard shells) #6Posted 2012-02-04 11:07:33
I guess if the guy was looking for Maine Lobsters he would have posted in General or perhaps Bangkok forum.
As he posted in the Phuket forum I presumed he wanted the type of lobster caught and sold here. There must be a fish market in CR that would have some occasionally? #7Posted 2012-02-04 12:14:35
Try SAVOEY SEA FOOD..PATONG... OR Kaeneng@the pier, Chalong pier Rd,i think they might help you..

Said he was looking for "good lobster" If you think the lobster here is good, maybe you've need to try one. There are lobster companies in Portland that will ship anywhere. Just trying to help. #9Posted 2012-02-04 15:02:16

Thanks for the helpful replies. Sounds like we're not the only ones with a craving for good lobster.

I'm not knocking the traditional lobster from Nova Scotia or Maine (despite the fact the cost would be astronomical to get it delivered to Northern Thailand). I just made a reasonable assumption the OP was asking about the product in Phuket - Painted Rock Lobster or Crayfish. #12Posted 2012-02-04 19:26:36
I was watching a documentary recently on cable TV
It seems most of the lobster sold here comes from Burma They have fished them out locally #13Posted 2012-02-05 08:29:49

There's a company in Phuket which is importing Maine lobsters in different sizes/weight.
Price is around 1200Baht/kg, they arrive every Friday/Saturday. #15Posted 2012-02-05 12:17:27
ive eaten local lobster in the maldives and the caribean, both grown locally, in the sea right under the restaurant floor actually so it must be possible. you would think someone would try that here
