Hey All,
Just thought I'd pass along a nice TV streaming site I happened upon when searching for a superbowl stream. I watched the game glitch free, which is rare for me to find a smooth stream. No proxy is needed as well...You just agree to their conditions, and your hooked up. I just realized I sound like an advertisement....I am not affiliated in any way with this site...just had a good experience. Forgive me if there have been previous posts about it, I admit I did no prior search. Happy viewing, Eric I dont know if links are allowed so I'll tell you it's ustvnow dot com #2Posted 2012-02-06 10:47:30
Hey again,
Just noticed the site only offers ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, PBS, and CW for free. The rest of the channels they charge like 49.95 a month for. Well it's good for those channels anyway. Sorry if I got anyone too excited Eric #3Posted 2012-02-06 11:12:57
Eric,
Yes, jfchandler started a thread about ustvnow several months ago. Several posters tested. At that time, I signed up for the free service. Streaming was a bit bumpy at first. But, continues to get better. Watched sports mostly, especially college football games. Quality is good, considering my limited bandwith. Got an email from ustvnow that they were making special preparations to stream the SuperBowl. (And, would have watched the Super bowl on it. But, Skynindo's ASN channel was unencrypted.) Thanks for posting. Never hurts to revive an old thread about a good service. Cheers #4Posted 2012-02-06 15:45:29
Thank you!

Thank you! Spend a lot of time trying to watch hulu via a VPN. LOVE hulu but the bandwith in isaan is VERY slow. When trying to do it via vpn.. I'm lucky if I can stream in 288 lol Guess I shouldn't complain.. At least I have internet..

From ustvnow email this morning, a new, one week only, "All Channel Plan" promotion; $19 first month, $29 per month after, DVR service $10.
I use the free service. And, as my bandwidth has increased, I use it more. But, pricing is looking better. And, not having to use a proxy is a plus. Cheers #7Posted 2012-02-07 11:11:38
Thanks, I will check this out, I have a sling box in the USA setup at my sisters house but guess it took a crap a couple of weeks ago as it stopped working. Im told there is no power guess time to buy a new one. Will see how good this works and if good will skip buying a new one.

I've been watching the free version for several months now. My connection speed varies. I did watch the superbowl

Glad I found this thread! I was going to try Slingbox once again (tried 4 yrs ago but it froze too often). I'll be checking into USTV now. Don't beat me up but I have missed not getting FNC as a balance to the relentless CNN/MSNB liberal slant.

I'm at about 3.1 mbs #11Posted 2012-02-08 22:46:44
yougivemebaby,
I'm in the far north. Laos border. DSL bandwidth has only grown from 25k to 725k. So, have to manage the ustvnow resolutions to least buffering. But, okay. I get to watch sports on the free channels that I would not get to see otherwise. Cheers #12Posted 2012-02-08 22:58:35
For $50/mo you can get a half decent satellite subscription, no need to mess with poor Internet based TV. Not like they offer a lot of channels for the $50 either.

reading the sign up info on the site it sounds like it is only free for 2 weeks, but they maybe talking about the DVR service, confusing: Free Trial Plan with DVR -No credit card needed
This plan lets you receive all major US terrestrial stations (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC, PBS) and start watching instantly, no download required. It also includes our DVR service. This free trial expires in two weeks. #14Posted 2012-02-12 15:04:22
if you have the knowledge to set it up. I would point everyone towards:- Sickbeard and SabNZB.
Running with Newzbin2 and NZBMatrix and usenetserver. Bliss free shows in HD and it automatically downloads the shows new episodes and processes tags it and artworks it ready for view as soon as it aired in your chosen software such as XBMC or on your HD streaming device. (Share the processed folder as a SMB or AFP or UPNP) Really is awesome. Your own PVR for HD tv shows. Google is your friend on this one lots of guides - tricky to setup but once its running.... and youtube videos on it if you search sickbeard. Or of course icefilms and XBMC not quite as good but ok.
