Considering that most westerners are completely barking about sex, being totally obsessed with it, whilst pretending that it doesn't exist except between married couples in their bedrooms and nothing more risque than the missionary position is used, and most Thai seem completely at ease with the idea that sex is a normal part of life, I'll take the katoeys and the penis over western hypocrisy any time!
Just to be clear though, mutually consensual sex yes, rape and gang rape is a crime, sex with the underaged is a crime as they cannot give consent.

If you go to Google maps and search for Kae Dam, Maha Sarakham and then display photos you'll see a picture of an Isaan Rocket Festival 2007. If you click on this and view in Panoramio you can see other pictures of the festival including phallic symbols and people wearing photos depicting straight and oral sex.
I don't know if this can or is blocked by the Thai authourities since they don't like internet porn. I also don't know why internet porn is banned but this isn't. Not that I'm suggesting it should be banned of course.

Different cultures have different approaches to sex and sexuality. Come to Japan, we have Penis festivals, Pussy festivals, temples devoted to penises and vaginas, and mixed communal nude bathing at many outdoor hot springs (all open to kids of all ages). All in all a lot more open and healthier attitude to the human body, sex and sexuality than the stuff you would have us live with.
