I have lived in both Montreal and in Bangkok Thialand and I much prefer Thailand.
There are many reasons, some you might think as frovulous but to me they count
The weather here is way better, there is no snow
The food here is much more to my liking.
Good cuisine in Montreal is Lafleurs at 3am
I prefer Asian girls to Causasian girls
Taxes are lower here.
I do not have to read in the papers about French v English
You are always a short trip from a great beach
Life seems to have more freedoms here
As for visiting for two days ...
There are many temples to see in Bangkok
Go visit the Grand Palace
Take a boat ride on the Chao Praya

Do not always believe what you read, it is no more
dangerous here then in Montreal or St-Leonard or Brossard
If you go off the beaten track and go down dark alleys at night
in any city, you go at your own peril
Sounds good advice here to me.

As for Thailand being cheap... Sorry, not any more.  Between the poor exchange rate and inflation, Thailand is now easily as expensive as North America.

Horse manure. Where can you get a hotel room with TV, aircon and a swimming pool for 500 baht ($16 US) in a major beach resort in North America? Where can you find tasty, cooked meals for 30 baht ($1.00 US)? Thailand is not as cheap as it used to be, but what country is?

Agreed !!
Terminal 21 is a brand new upmarket Mall in Bangkok . I live around the corner and eat at their food court most days, the food selection is fantastic and its all 30-50bht per dish, thats $1-$1.50

On a different note, anybody have have had an experience with Bumrungrad hospital ?
I have emailed them a couple of months ago regarding a tattoo removal. They seem to be very cheap and as far as I know, they're one of top hospitals in BKK.
What do you think? any other/better options?

Thanks

I totally agree with LuckyLew regarding Montreal/Bangkok, no snow, great food and accomodations at a reasonable price,  etc. Two days is short, but definitely better than not coming here at all. Bangkok beats KL any time just like Thailand is a better place to visit/stay than Malaysia. As for a guide, if you know what you want to see, you don't need a guide, just a good guide book. But, my first time in Thailand i went for the guided tour, did most of the country in 3 weeks and yes, its one of the best ways to get oriented, but a guide in Bangkok? I would hook up with a thai beauty and tell her what I want to visit and she will take you there and back, plus throw in a few fringe benefits for the same price as that guide you are hiring. Or just call me and you pay the beer and other expenses and I will show you around.

About ANY hospital would be able to. And use those brains: the best hospital will not be the cheapest-BRR is known as good in 98% of cases (there never will be a 100% garantee and not possible to sue either-so USAers be forwarned) and also about the most expensive in BKK among the others. Though it might look very well be cheap enough for you compared to homeprices. Is this really so hard to figure out? Just plain common knowledge?
Also: learn som webiquette: what you do, adding a completely other Q is named postjacking and generally ''frowned'' on or left unanswered-you now only have incidental hits, a proper worded new Q would lead to more. Remember this for next time.
