A UK passport cannot have new pages inserted, you require a new one. If you do not feel safe using DHL or whatever then do it in the UK.

Nothing in this world can be trusted 100% however DHL and FEDEX are all quite trustworthy as you get a tracking number.

Submit your application by mail and go personally to pick up new passport at the Embassy.

I didn't think IPS UK would send the passport to the Embassy, seems like keeping the middle man, when the whole idea behind this new way of doing things was to keep them out of the chain

i had mine sent to the consulate here in chiang mai but i did also apply through them and it may have cost a little more.
they did however make a mistake and sent it to bkk so it took another week or so. you can get a new one with 48 pages. next time i think i would choose dhl and have it sent to my home here in thailand. or maybe you can have it sent to a local dhl office ? #7Posted 2012-02-08 19:28:20
I would renew when you go back to the uk, fees for 48 page are - £90.50 normal, 7 day £128.50, same day £138.50, cheaper than here and a little safer.

When you renew your passport you have to pay for the DHL return fee also. They don't send the passport back normal post.
What I would do. When you send the application you should use a DHL office. So just arrange with that office for the return packet to be sent to them instead of your home address. Then you can either track the item online or just call that office to check when it arrives. Thats what I did in Pattaya and all worked out good. |
