Chonburi Immigration Police Arrests American and 7 Ugandans
PATTAYA:-- Chonburi immigration police commander Pol. Col. Chusak Panasamporn held a press conference on the arrest of American national Plueger Dray Matthew, 36, wanted by US authorities on narcotics-related charges. He was arrested while drinking at a beachside bar in Pattaya Soi 5.
He fled an arrest warrant in the US and hided out in Pattaya.
The police also arrested 7 Ugandan nationals on the charge of prostitution. They will be prosecuted by Pattaya police before being deported.
The immigration police said the crackdown on crime by foreign nationals is an attempt to boost Pattaya's image as a tourist destination as ordered by the immigration police chief. Moreover, the bureau will continue its work to arrest foreign nationals involved with crime to improve the quality of foreign visitors to the kingdom and increase security at all tourist destinations.

Pattaya Immigration arrest fugitive American and 7 Ugandan suspected prostitutes
PATTAYA:-- Immigration Police have announced the arrest of an American fugitive and7 Ugandan women accused of being prostitutes.
Police Colonel Choosak, the Superintendent of Chonburi Immigration held at a press conference at the Immigration Office in Jomtien Beach Soi 5 on Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Dray Matthew Pleuger aged 36 is wanted on drug related offences in USA according to a communication received by the American Embassy in Bangkok and is believed to have escaped to Thailand to avoid prosecution. He was located and arrested at a small bar located at the entrance to Soi 5 on Pattaya Beach road and will shortly be deported to USA in conjunction with the Embassy.
Immigration Officers arrested the 7 Ugandan women on Pattaya Beach, in the early hours of Tuesday. They were seen to approach foreign tourists and propositioned an undercover operative.

I'm quite sure I saw several of those girls on WS last night. Like their Thai counterparts they're probably slapped with a 200 baht fine and let go again after the pictures have been taken.

Who on earth would come to Thailand and hire a Ugandan for sex - I now most of the Thai BG's in Pattaya are past their sell by date but even so ......

If there will be an attempt to boost Pattaya's image than it is about time that they start arresting local politicians, police and other upstanding members of society too, I suppose. Only fugitives with hormonal problems and not so smart ones would opt for Pattaya. Staying out of Americans hands must not be too hard if you opt for another country than Thailand, closer at home there must be some countries around with a similar climate as Thailand but who are not as close diplomatically.

Edit: Just read on another board that they were earning 3,000 Baht per hour each so I guess some do like brown sugar.
