iTunes Match Makes Money Out of Thin Air



Apple’s cloud-based music service iTunes Match has been available for several months now, and is helping to generate royalties for copyright holders that wouldn’t otherwise be made. Online music distribution company TuneCore says that Apple is creating money “out of thin air” and helping to support the artists on its books.

Actually its not a bad idea to get your music in Lossless audio quality if u had only ripped your music at 128K MP3 bit rate for example.

Also any apple device has access to your entire music collection without storing them locally on a device.  Who says 16GB is not enough space now

Well, it's not lossless, it's 256 Kbps AAC lossy, which is what I use as my standard rip setting on iTunes. It's not a bad deal for a lot of people. But now they want you to subscribe to iCloud and iMatch? With the hugh profits Apple has been reporting, I would think it may be time to lower the price on devices since there are more streams of revenue now... Somehow I doubt that will happen though.
