Can anyone please advise.
If you are a British citizen, and would like to marry a Thai citizen, do you need to be able to speak and read Thai?
Or is this only if you would like to become a 'resident'?

You do not need to be able to speak and read Thai in order to marry a Thai national.
All things you need to organize you wil find on your embassy website. #3
