I was thinking, I have good knowledge about northern Thailand. However, to find the whereabouts of the Akha village, where they grow the Doi Chang coffee brand, I'm not very sucessful to locate it. Locals I spoke to, gave me two options one is near Doi Tung, which I doubt, otherwise I would know it. The second must be in the area of Amphoe Mae Suai. Is there someone who can help me with this???

Doi Chaang can be reached on a fully tarred road from Mae Suai. Take the Doi Wawi road and after about 8 km turn right at the signpost. Another 20 km brings you to Doi Chaang village which is the home of a similar named coffee brand. Doi Chaang Coffee has warehouses, a museum and a shop on your left. If you are lucky the owners will invite you for lunch which is taken communally with the employees.
You can also go to Doi Chaang from Chiang Rai. Take the old Chiang Mai road and turn right in Huai San. This road is under construction. See link below. http://www.thaivisa....ars-completion/ #3Posted 2012-02-11 09:26:13
