Want 4 to 5 quart Dutch oven, but not with plastc lid handle.  Anyone know where to get one in BKK?  I would order from Amazon but am wary of customs charge.

If this is for no-kneed bread baking then note that using a Pyrex oven bowl with lid also works well.  All department stores have them.

It is for no-knead bread.  I want to make the Bittman recipe.  However, I see on some boards that pyrex sometimes explodes.  May be due to human error, but even so.

Just go to any central and look at their household/cooking section, they always have a few there.

Old thread but I saw a decent assortment of Dutch Ovens today at IKEA, Bang Na.  Ground level housewares.  DON'T go on a weekend!

Yeah, IKEA for sure.

Some of the name brand enameled cast iron stuff here is ridiculously expensive. My big Le Creuset pot that was $250 back home sells for THB25,000 here.

No problem. Just import them, offer them cheaper in the local market, and become a millionaire. It's easy, and no reason to complain.

Amazon has them for cheap.  I guess I will take my chances with customs then.
