Hi
Does anyone know the prices of land in the Surin area? I would like to purchase at least 2 rai intitaily, this will increase, I wish to build a house if required, and then move onto farming. Is their a contact in the area (Estate Agents)?. Idealy a "falang" that wants to move on would. #2Posted 2012-02-11 11:42:45
Sorry but you are being far too vague at this point. 2 rai for what?, build a house OK so you will have to start looking for a plot suitable. Has it got water and power available, on a tar road or not, the posibilities are endless. I suggest you go to the area where you would like to live and see what is available. Then re-post on this forum describing what you are looking at and the ask members what they think.

There are a number of agents in the area. Googling should yield some results.

Hi
The land would be around the Prasat area, 2 to 4 Rai required. Any idea on the price per Rai. Yes I have googled and their are some interesting project's. Small farm. Edited by Angritgent, 2012-02-12 18:41:07. #7Posted 2012-02-12 18:52:29
Anything from 20,000 baht for crap remote rice paddy to 500,000 and up for major road frontage farmland with commercial development opportunities. The kind of land a falang would want to build on if he/she wants mains water electricity and telephone lines is likely to be in the range of 50,000 to 150,000 baht a rai. Only someone who lives in the area you want to build could be any more granular than this.

Hi
I am in Prasat now, seen some land. 11 rai 900,000 baht 10 years ago 21 rai next to it sold for 80,000 baht. Has land prices gone up 20 times in 10 years???? Also is their anywhere in Prasat you can eat 'Falang" food, cant keep going to Big C in Surin. #10Posted 2012-02-19 12:46:31
I have no idea why but land in Issan has skyrocketed in the past five years. Five years ago I could buy all the decent farm land anyone could want for between 30,000 and 40,000 baht per rai. The same land is now selling for between 80,000 and 180,000 baht per rai. There is absolutely no way the land would ever pay for itself from farming.
I'm in Loei province and not in your area but I suspect the prices in your area would be quite similar. #11Posted 2012-02-19 12:51:08

Hi Went to Staffords, saw the sign as you come in, could not find the restaurant though, went all over the Soi's, even to the derelict ones at the rear. Perhaps it is closed in the afternoons? Sorry ommunication problem,
It was 800,000 baht for 21 rai 10 years ago, land next to it is for sale at 11 rai 900.000 baht so I think this a good deal. Land prices have gone up more than 2 fold in 10 years. I have also seen some land that has been legally cut and has the concrete posts and Government markers 1 2/3 rd rai for 550,000 baht perfect to build on with option for 1 rai next to it for 350,00 baht.
