i think all are welcome, 7pm, today Big C on the Hang Dong to Hod road, don't be late and miss all the "fun".
BTW, I checked out the place in the back of Kad Farang, lovely pool table, TV etc. but we would have to give advance notice, as no cookie or eats available, we had the place to ourselves at 19:30 through 21:00. easy parking, outside/ inside tables, a place begging to be used. So... Hello?
Ok I'm just a little late, but I'm looking at a billion Thai people and no Farlongs. I like this Big C by the way, remarkably smiley staff, and they have a dedicated Cowboy shop. Anyway, I'm waiting for the next Songtell and if that doesn't deliver a crowd then I'm off to drive the 100 miles to Loi Kroh. #55Posted Yesterday, 19:33

Will be at the Kad farang place after the grand prix qualifiers D #56Posted Yesterday, 20:00

Was there at 7:20-8 checking out both inside Big C and outside at the one bar area. I saw one other Farang right when I got there. THought he might be waiting on a wife, so I had to buy something, hit the bathroom, and then when I went past the downstairs he was gone. I wonder if that was you Winnie, he was playing with his cellphone...
I checked out Kad Farang on the way back and saw nothing as described, but I probably just failed to find it. However, I recieved a text at that time from some female co-workers, so I am going with that plan instead Good luck, have fun and don't worry, you'll get over not seeing my smiling mug. #58Posted Yesterday, 22:35
I have seen these sort of threads before and have surely been tempted to participate and meet up.
But I think most of these are a load of hot air and rarely does anyone turn up anyway, so I don`t bother. If this was the real deal and some did turn up, I would be interested to hear what transpired? #59Posted Yesterday, 23:32
See above; I'm in favor of sticking to town for meet ups & piss ups. There aren't even that many small local bars along that stretch of the CM-Hot road. Saw one called Bingo Bar but that was already very near Kad Farang.
I have to also admit that it's quite the drive.. I never thought of it as particularly far from town, but late at night I wouldn't want to trek all the way back there. Edited by WinnieTheKhwai, Yesterday, 23:34 . #60Posted Today, 04:25
I reckon Winnie has every right to be mightly p*ssed off, earlier posters need to explain themselves.

Hello Winnie, BlackArtemis et al,
Yes, I am very sorry for not turning up as planned; a case of the trots after some Burmese food on the visa run; and yes it is a long way from town; hence my inquiry to those who live in Hang Dong; and yes there are not many decent places. So it's back to the wine bar opposite ROSEWOOD in Kad Farang for me. Dave #62Posted Today, 07:40

Strange how some people get their kicks?
#64Posted Today, 09:46
I went to the clubhouse in Kad Farang about 8.20 no one there....
Wine bar opposite Rosewood is called Ye Olde Pub! Serves draught Guinness and bottled London Pride! David #65Posted Today, 09:51
The only place where most TV posters are guaranteed to show up, is where there is free booze and food.

You got that one right, be interesting to see the long (or possibly short) list of excuses and apologies, this is where the creative talents of posters begins to show. Well you see, I was going to come and was in fact on my way there when unavoidably a meteor, not a big one mind, crashed down a few feet away and injuted this old man who was on his way to the temple along with his thirteen grandchildren ........ #68Posted Today, 10:58

There are genuine people that post here, knowledgeable, interesting, funny, abrasive, sarcastic etc......but in the main genuine. I think I've sorted out a good selection who I could trust to be true to their word, but as for the rest........well, I guess it's a lottery, you pay your money and take your chances. |
