No it's available now and it runs Linux rather than Android. It's also 30% cheaper.

Truly amazing how small they are getting.

Awesome, where did you order the Raspberry PI board from in TH?

http://www.element14...ps/raspberry-pi http://uk.rs-online....?id=raspberrypi You'll have to wait in the queue though. #9#10Posted Yesterday, 22:43
That's sweet! I hope to see these on shops some day as well.

I'm also hoping to see Pi or that Cotton candy type of computers which are attached to large and fast enough SSD disk. That would serve as an portable media device and backup while traveling.

I don't think they'll be for sale in shops. They were designed and are being manufactured by a UK charity that was concerned about the slippage in programming skills in the UK. The suppliers (RS and Farnell) do ship internationally although there's a bit of a queue at the moment. I ordered mine on the 13th March and it arrived this morning.

I intend to load XBMC on mine and use it as a media player hanging off the back of an HP microserver running WHS 2011.

on ebay , posted to Thailand ![]() And? Things that are in short supply sell for big money on Ebay. The first 10 Pis were auctioned off on Ebay to raise money for the Raspberry Pi charity and raised £000s. I paid £29 (which included sales tax and carriage) and it arrived this morning. The APC is slated to be available in July. #16Posted Today, 00:48
I would never pay extra for the dealers on ebay on this kind of item. I hope nobody would do that.
However if some company does the work to bring the devices to here in Thailand, I'm ok to pay some extra for it. Some of my friends got early to the waiting list, but it was way too late for me to do that. edure: Did you got the A or B model? I could think that the port on right low conder on your picture would be an ethernet port, but I'm not really sure. #17Posted Today, 01:15
I got the B which is the only one they're making at the moment. The A and a cased version for use in schools come later. Even they were surprised by the demand when they started taking orders.

I understood that the Raspery PI is done by non profit organization by the idea to provide cheap computers for people who don't have too much money to play with. Now some people get them selves to the queue line with an idea to sell the items later on with profit. These people make others to wait longer for their devices to maket themselves a few euros. I compare this activity to people who buy concert/game tickets and sell those in the front of the event with higher price. It's wrong in my opinion. #20Posted 2 minutes ago
