Hi All.

I spend 9 months of the year in LOS and always believed i could not
buy a motorcycle in my name on a tourist visa
.

I have seen on the motorcycle forum that it is possible
but the post is almost two years old and as we all know
thing change here on a daily basis
.

My question is, is it possible to buy a new honda wave on a tourist visa?.

thanks

Yes -

That said, there are some questions.  Do you stay for just a week or two at a time or longer ?  Longer is easier.  Will the bike be new or used. ?  Used is easier.  Where will you keep it ?  do you stay at your own place or move around alot ?  If you own a place it is easier,  If you always stay at the same place it is also easy  Change hotels every time and it gets harder..  There are some place that will store a bike for you when you are away.

To chage a bike in your name you will need  a letter from immigration.  To get that you need to bring a letter from where you rent or live.  But can be done

I bought s/h bikes several times in the past on TVs .The main thing is to have at least 4 weeks left on your Tourist visa ,so that its still valid through out the processing period .

Depends.

In Thailand, what happens for me today may not be what happens for you tomorrow.

I was able to buy one with a Tourist Visa, but I've known some expats who were rejected.  I was also able to get a driver's license.  Give it a shot.  All they can say is 'no'.
