Doesn't anyone know what happened to the police investigation into the assassination attempt on Sondhi. During the Abhisit administration the national police chief had to be removed because he was impeding the investigation and the man in charge of the investigation said he was only two weeks away from announcing some high level arrests. Then stony silence.

Can someone tell me why this creep Sondhi isn't in a jail cell? He has two prison sentences hanging over him....but out on eternal bail.... Because he signed a lease for Thaksins condo in Dubai. It shouldn't be long now before its vacant. Sent from my GT-N7000 using Thaivisa Connect App #28Posted Today, 12:48
He can afford the bail.
He still owns a media company, no one wants to upset someone with that much money Sent from my GT-I9100 using Thaivisa Connect App #29Posted Today, 12:55

I think the background is relatively well known to the assasination attempt though as far as I know it has not been discussed much if at all in the print media.Unfortunately there's not much that can be covered in this forum. One reason the trail went quiet I suspect was because of who was clearly not involved (ie Thaksin - even Sondhi doesn't suggest this). #30Posted Today, 12:55
Just when everything is turning back to normal from many situations and events that happened in Thailand, Mr. Sondhi and the PADs have to return and start the rally again. Can you the Reds and PADs just stay in your holes and buried yourselves there for the sake of this country? #31#32Posted Today, 13:06
Can someone tell me why this creep Sondhi isn't in a jail cell? He has two prison sentences hanging over him....but out on eternal bail.... Can someone tell me why this creep To whom are you referring? The one on the left is a red shirt, the one on the right is a yellow shirt The one on the left was was sentenced to two years in prison after a Junta appointed Assets Examination Committee was set up especially to find something to charge him with. He is currently based in Dubai but gets around the world quite a bit. Recently popped into the UK to watch a football match, not even ejected by the match stewards let alone arrested and deported back to Thailand as a "fugitive from justice". The one on the right has been sentenced and bailed 4 times and is currently out on bail supposedly preparing an appeal on a 20 year sentence. Not considered a flight risk - why should he be, he knows he's not going to jail. That's the difference. #33Posted Today, 13:07
PAD should have been disbanded long ago. Serves no purpose whatsoever other than to try and create further social division. Everyone outside of either camp, red or yellow, is just so tired of it all. Reconciliation begins the day these two groups cease to exist, and not a day before. Why should PAD be disbanded? It's a free country and it is completely entitled to hold rallies if complying with the law. What is more its origins, leaving aside the issue of its unsavoury and authoritarian minded leadership, seem quite honourable - a middle class reaction against Thaksin's meglomania and the tyranny of the majority. The fact that it was ruthlessly exploited by the unelected elites is of course unfortunate, as was the increasingly thuggish and violent element among its younger followers.Once it had served its purpose it was muzzled: the unelected elites no more like yellow unpredictability than they do red unpredictability because both represent potential destabilisation of the status quo.If it is unleashed again it will be a calculated step by the elite to warn Thaksin not to overreach himself - all part of the great behind the scenes negotiation. If those Chinese grannies, thugs and weirdos now assembling in modest numbers think they are in control they are sadly mistaken. #34Posted Today, 13:16

Sorry , I neglected to say that the AEC was set up by the Junta to investigate Thaksin and his government, not just Thaksin alone. Did I miss anything else? Perhaps you can help me out, who else was investigated by the AEC apart from Thaksin and his family? #38Posted Today, 13:33

Sorry for you -why ask me to help you out ?? all the truths have been answered, and are on record, Rixalex has just put the truth to you, if you want anymore look them up yourself-unless you don't like thing nearer the truth. Relax and admit the wrongs the same I do with any P.M. and it's followers. If this country was your business, and Thaksin did what he did would you be happy with him ??? Sondi--and other colour leeders are o.k. until they overstep their mark. #41Posted Today, 13:53

I don't know if the PAD can muster much support these days but then the movement started very small in 2005. It will be interesting to see how the red shirts respond to this. Now that they are in power it is more difficult to take the moral high ground and futile to call for arson and revolution. Will firebrands Nattawut and Jatuporn enthrall tens of thousands of "prai" again by with histrionic exhortations to aggressively ignore all injustices done to them by Abhisit, Suthep, Prem and other "amartiya" and do nothing, so the Great Leader can can home and get his money back and they themselves can enjoy looting the taxpayer as government ministers? Perhaps a lecture on Maoist dialectics from Dr Weng will do the trick.

The Assets Examination Committee ... is a now-defunct Thai administrative body in charge of scrutiny of assets of the Ministers in the government of Pol Lt Col Thaksin Shinawatra. The Council for National Security, a military junta that overthrown Thaksin's Government in 2006, accused those Ministers for having gained assets in a manner against the laws or detrimental to the State and set up the AEC therefor. Speaking of the AEC, do you have a reference to the investigations done by chance? Just curious. #44Posted Today, 14:50
Ecologically speaking a species with a single food source risks extinction when the environment changes, an example is the Giant Panda. Successful species are the omnivores that can eat many different food types.
The PAD are Pandas, their only target was the Thaksin family , the Reds are omnivores, they are targeted on the entire social structure of Thailand. #45Posted Today, 15:09

Ozmick, you missed a golden opportunity
Omnivores always win over carnivores and two of the most successful omnivores on this planet are humans and rats. #49Posted 19 minutes ago

The one on the left was was sentenced to two years in prison after a Junta appointed Assets Examination Committee was set up especially to find something to charge him with. An earlier poster said he should be allowed to appeal. Fact is he had the chance to appeal but decided not to possibly because he would have had to appear in person at which point he would have still been free in Thailand pending the outcome of the appeals. However, there were other charges about to be laid which could have resulted in much more severe sentencing had he been found guilty. |
