Does a divorce in Thailand have to happen at the same office it was registered or is any amphur office fine?

Is there a document that states what happens with assets at the time of divorce, or does the couple go to court after?

You can go togehter to any amphur in Thailand to get a divorce, with both marriage certificates.

When you divorce at the amphur, you can at the same time enter an agreement about the assets etc into the register. That is not a requirement.

When married without a prenup in Thailand, you simply split up the asstes that where gained during the marriage. (including any debts). All the two you had before your marriage is left out of it. If you hadd  house and 100,000 befoe the marriage and now you have a house and 200,000 you only split 100,000.
Normally you only go to court if you can't agree on the splitting.
