Secure Vehicle Parking At The Aran/Poipet Border?

We will be driving to the Aran/Poipet border early in August then will take a taxi on to Siem Reap for a few days to see Ankor Wat.. Does anyone know if there is a secure parking lot where we can leave our car for a few days while we make the trip and the daily charge?

The market and border area are a bit of a mess at the best of times. There is a large car park 100m to the left of the border (or north side) where most of the thai casino buses park for the day, a large numbers of vehicles also park there. There is security attendants for the collection of fees. (I have to disclose that I have not been there, thankfully, for some 18 months but this has been in existence for the last 8 years). Idk the daily charge but someone will.

If it was a day trip I would suggest that this car park would be fine though thais do leave their vehicle parked there for overnight or 2 day gambling trips. However, I think it would be better peace of mind to just leave it at a hotel at Aran for the period you are in Cambodia.

You could always drive to the border market and check out the car park, chat to the attendants and then make a decision. It will obviously depend to a degree on if you have thais in your group, any mobility issues with anyone and the type of vehicle you have.

And there are also several car parks to the right (as driving towards the border). I parked at one there for 5 days about 2 years ago. I think it was called Getaway and cost 100 Baht per day. There was shade cloth coverage and plenty of empty spaces when I arrived in the morning. A couple of parking attendants. How secure is it? Impossible to know, but I'd read on TV and other places that it was considered "safe". Assuming the attendants/guards are there 24 hours I would guess just as secure as parking your car on the street overnight in Bangkok.

For info, I did the same as your planning, drive then taxi, and it turned out relatively easy. Just read up some of the posts on TV and Tales of Asia about getting across the border.
