I hold 4 masters level degrees in accounting, finance, economics and law, and working on my phd, but still a farang (possibly a high school dropout) would be given preference on me. Amazing Thailand.  :D

I dont care about it too much now, coz I am leaving soon.

dare one suggest that the quality of universities and course work in the Phillipines is not exactly first rate as another reason why Thais prefer farangs as teachers?

History speaks that some successful CEOs/ researchers/ educators and professionals were educated in my country.  You make it sound that the education that I get from my university seemed trivial to you and you make it sound that our educational system cannot create schools that can compete globally.

I would love to debate on that but it just too lame of a reason.  In all countries my friend, there are excellent universities and colleges and there are some rotten apples.  But that does give you the right to generalize that our schools can't produce excellent graduates who can't be competitive.  Hey, I didn't need a white man to teach me English and it was my brown teacher who taught me well.  So me and my universities do fine.

Now, it is not because we are products of our universities would make a good reason for not prefering us to teach them.  And it is obvious reason why they picked you.  You should congratulate yourself for that.

Any more asian bashing?  :o

The Thais are ignorant and superficial. They don't know much about education in general  :D

My English sucks (bear with me, I am working on it  :o ), but even the British government welcomes me as a teacher and allows me to teach business studies/economics in secondary schools. Having a bachelor's degree in Education, it is no problem for me to obtain a QTS (qualified teacher status). Might be interesting for you Buki ! Given the shortage of teachers in the UK, they will welcome you with open arms..
