I still have my bank account, credit card, and wife from when I was a layman four months ago....although none of them are of much use to me now.... lol
I did not have to hand them over anyway....nor get divorced.

Are you permitted to deposit or withdraw money to/from your accounts, as a monk? I'm not asking whether you do, that's none of our business, nor is it a challenge -- I'm only curious, in general, whether Thai monks use personal bank accounts. #53Posted 2010-09-07 08:43:12
I have never known a bank to refuse anyone's money...and withdrawl from ATM's is anonymous.
I would imagne many Thai monks have accounts. #54Posted 2010-09-10 00:40:13

My Luang Pho told me, that there is a special work permit possible, for volunteers etc. Can somenone check it out.? I have good young people in Europe who would like to stay in a good Wat. #56Posted 2011-01-03 15:37:00

And from the Thai embassy in the UK:
9. An NGO in Thailand has invited me to go there and work for them as a volunteer for 45 days during my school break. I will not earn any money in Thailand. I am a British college student in Liverpool. I understand that I do not need a visa, do I? A: Although you will work as a volunteer, you do need a Non-Immigrant visa as well as the Work Permit. The NGO must be legally registered with the Thai authority, and that you need a recommendation letter from the NGO for your visa application and the Work Permit. #58Posted 2011-01-04 21:24:25
