They know they will get nothing more than a slap on the wrists

Keep reading this on the forum. Makes you wonder what kind of crimes all the guys filling Thai jails have committed.

Seems to be more on the increase these days. Best not to engage them in a street fight. 10yrs been here never seen a foreigner come off good. Out number u and use weapons if they not win . Shame.

Trink reported an incident once where two Aussies, back to back, kept smashing a dog pack of Thais until they tucked their tails in and quit coming.

You are so right...all these stories should go viral...even in a country the size of USA, if a fraction of these incidents occurred there, it would major huge news...in Thailand, such incidents happen so often they do not even get adequate news coverage.

Yeah, ok, so last year Chicago alone had 762 murders and 4,341 shooting victims. .iii.?are any reported?  Murder occurs so many times every day that nobody really gives a moo.  Same same with gang violence, happens everyday of the week in most every city of the world.  I feel far more safe in Thailand than say cleaveland, London or sydney

Well, you know, it is a different culture you know, so they approach matters in their own cultural way, you know. If I understand all the whining correctly, it's the Thais that winning all the street fights, you know. So that probably means that the arrogant farang cry babies get their a$$es whipped, you know. Maybe it hurts, you know, pain in the brain you know, thinking you're some wealthy winner, you know, ruling the world you know, thinking you're some hot shot you know and then get beaten by a couple of tiny Thai, you know. Feels bad for the farang ego, you know. Coming to Thailand you know, thinking you know it all, you know, teaching them your moral you know, as if your moral is the only right one, you know. Guess it is a bit Anglo Saxon, you know, to have that attitude of being superior you know.

Don't engage them unless you need to defend yourself.. Little guys with big knives will defeat a fist.. Unless your chuck Norris

1st mature comment so far. Why do too many comments here sound like chest thumping in a grade school playground sandbox.

Because they choose not to live in the real world. They think fights are between gentlemen, clean cut square jawed hunks who'd only fight one on one, never use a weapon, and shake hands after fisticuffs, win or loose, and by their opponent a beer. Load of cobblers.

And of course as they're superior Westerners they would just clip any Asian round the ear and send them on their way.

Total delusion.

Sadly, too cranial to describe your first group. The latter seems more fitting.

That Dutch guy lost the fight and now he starts weening.... pathetic! Should be a lesson to him not to get involved in a fight.

It would be interesting to see how you would feel after being attacked by two men and stabbed. You are the pathetic one here, not him.

gag the media rather than simply sort out the problem that is obvious to everyone to see.  Thainess personified

Gag the media they are working on it. Laws reporter licensing you name it and if that does not work they still have their trusty computer crimes act.

I yelled at him in English and said, "why didn't you stop?"  Well, he did not bother to stop, he simply drove off. However, there were several moto-cy taxi drivers sitting at the corner waiting for fares. They gave me a dirty look and one said, in English, that I should have stopped.

you were walking across an intersection. ?could you not hear the tuk tuk?

i would normally stop, turn and see where the motorized vehicle was in relation to me and get out of the way.

farang always me, me, me..

and you certainly did'nt impress any of the bystanders either.

the world does not revolve around you, jack, get over yourself.

next time he will drive over you because you were in the way.

555, in hat yai and yelling in english,  555

you made me laugh out loud

I once saw a trio of young Thais try it on with a big Western guy after some arguing. He smacked them round pretty good and yes, they pulled out blades after getting their noses broken. But then the white guy pulls out a <deleted> 6 foot bullwhip! What a freak show. He had them running and screaming for their lives. I doubt they'd ever heard of or seen such an cruel device. I could tell catching those barbs on the end of the whip really hurt by the way they shrieked so loud. You've never heard such a racket.

Whatever he is, it is NOT a Dutch man. Yugoslav of some sorts, but definitely NOT Dutch. Wrong name, way too hairy, wrong face. Just saying.

In case you've not noticed we live in a multicultural world, it's the 21st century.... people migrate from country to country...:whistling:

It`s the same in England. Get into an argument with a young thug then he and all his mates will either beat you or stab you to death. Probably happens more often in the UK then it does in Thailand. If you don`t believe try reading the news reports yourself.

The Dutchman is obviously a tourist and hasn`t learned the basics of staying safe in Thailand yet. In incidents like these that I have experienced many times, it is best to let it be, continue on your merry way and live another day.

Yes we get a few cases of fights with knives but not like your end, every dam day including trying to burn people alive. In the UK you hear of every single case, here unless social media picks it up you do not hear about the daily events.

The Dutchman is obviously a tourist and hasn`t learned the basics of staying safe.

In most countries the police make a big effort to look after the tourists, here its how much can we take off them. In most countries they have a rule of law, here it's now everyone for themselves and its getting worse by the day

Some of the poster on here, I just do not know whether to laugh at, or feel sorry for, but your comments say alot about you and that is, ignorant stupid and lacking education. maybe drink to.

Tourists are robbed right left and centrer, its away of life for some.

Comments like "And of course as they're superior Westerners they would just clip any Asian round the ear and send them on their way"

says it all.

If you do not want the tourists here, get the lady from TAT to stop trying to deceive tourists will false claims and for once tell the truth.

Some here have totally racialist views brought on by being scared of their own shadow. As for loosing face. 3 words come to mind, (not printable).

Grow up and stop being a looser if you can
