An Open Letter To Mall Group And All Other Shopping Centers

2011-03-07 19:10:06

Dear The Mall Group,

As I am sure you are aware, due to escalating uncertainty in the Middle East, the cost of oil has been steadily appreciating since the beginning of 2011 and has already surpassed one-hundred and six United States dollars per barrel. In correlation to this fact, it has been my observation that there are more and more Window Shoppers taking advantage of the free air conditioning that your company so generously provides to all of your shoppers. These Window Shoppers very rarely venture pass the Food Court and spend most of their time entertaining themselves by going up and down the various escalators that you also so generously provide free of charge. This is troublesome to me for following reasons:

1. We Real Shoppers, who spend millions of baht a year each in your stores are now being exposed to dangerous and potentially fatal germs. Most of these Window Shopping free loaders do not follow general personal hygiene and can often be seen coughing and sneezing with total disregard towards the fact that a Real Shopper has already booked a non-refundable first class ticket and does not intend to get sick. Furthermore, the surging number of farang residents adds to this problem as they are often accompanied to the Food Court by a wide range of their spouse's extended family which have traveled from some far flung corner of Thailand where they more than likely tend to some form of livestock. I don't think that I need to remind you that this was exactly how the SARS Virus spread to Hong Kong from Mainland China.

2. Females friends and acquaintances have complained of having to queue up to use your bathrooms.

3. Personally, I have found that the air temperature is not cold enough undoubtedly due to the surging number of Window Shoppers.

My advice to you is to create a system in which customers much pay a refundable admission fee of two hundred baht for Thais and five hundred baht for Foreigners. If they spend in excess of this amount, it is refunded to them. That said, I would be completely fine with a policy that allows female University students to enter free of charge. These girls should be allowed to Window Shop as they add value to the shopping experience. You might even consider providing those of them who are particularly pretty with some kind of drink voucher.

I trust that you will do what is right.

Sincerely,

A Real Shopper

Thai Air Bkk-Lax

2011-03-03 17:49:10

In the USA, if you want your child to have their own seat, and they are an infant (under 2 yo) you must carry-on a car seat with certain specifications.

I am wondering if anyone knows if this is the case with Thai Air, BKK-LAX? We are planning on flying Premium Economy.

(I asked the travel agent but I've learned that you don't trust anything those people say.)

Thx.

Try To Get To Swampy 3-4 Hours Before Your Flight

2011-03-02 22:51:46

I usually arrive about an hour before an international flight. No problem to check-in my bag and make it through immigration/security. Swampy has always been very fast. Not sure wtf is going on but arrived the other day for a departure and immigration queues are all the way out of the immigration area and winding like a snake all the way into the flight check-in area - it was beyond insane. I can only imagine that it would take hours to get through there. I naturally weaseled my way to the front of the line after standing in the same place for 5 minutes and don't think the other farang didn't notice as I was cursed at in multiple languages. I was taken inside to the diplomatic line with the other weasels and the line was still moving extraordinarily slow still. Is it a software problem? Wtf is going on?

warning: to all non weasels try to show up 3 to 4 hours early for your flight.
