New Car Park On Loi Kroh Rd
2012-01-11 17:20:28
there's a new Car Park (Parking Lot to you people from the New World) on Loi Kroh Rd. It's opposite El Toro and next to what was called Marijuana Bar until Chris took the sign down as it was attracting unwanted attention. The charge is 20 baht per hour or 50 baht for the evening. They also have monthly and 6 monthly rates. If you are visiting any of the above named establishments or are conducting research in the girlie bars, you may find this car park useful.
Electrician
2011-12-21 17:46:52
Our electric bill has surged by 50% in the past 2 months, and EGAT say it is not their responsibility to come out and help us find where we're leaking electric from (they did come out to ascertain that the meter was working properly). What I need is a decent electrician who has the equipment to quantify the electrical usage of each appliance so that we can find out what's causing this surge in use. If anyone knows of a competent electrician in the Chiang Mai area (as opposed to the kind of hopeful amateurs one usually encounters) I'd be really grateful.
Police Shakedown On Loi Kroh Rd
2011-11-05 10:12:05
Last night at midnight, dozens of police descended on Loi Kroh rd, shut down the girlie bars and went through Chez Marcos with a fine tooth comb:- checking there was no 'Mae Sai Whisky' , checking staff papers etc etc.
My wife asked them what they were doing and being remarkably candid, as most Thias are, one guy told her that complaints had been received about late night noise at the new location of Spicy on Chiang Moi Rd and despite the fact that the police own it, they were forced to close at midnight. As a result and having lost face, Plod decided that every bar in the area should close at midnight, hence the shakedown. Restaurants arn't supposed to be included but they decided to give Marco a shakedown as they were in the area anyway and he doesn't make the appropriate contribution to the Police Benevolent fund.

Airside Map
2011-07-10 19:25:25
I'm flying out of suvanabhumi tomorrow night, as I've done a number of times before, but it would be useful to be able to print of a good map before I go, I want to view the restaurants and bars and foot mssage places. I've tried all the usual routes: Google search, AoT site (utter crap!), Wikipedia and the like but I can't come up wiht a good airside map. Does anyone happen to know of a website that contains one? Thanks
Beat The Ban Again!
2011-07-02 10:15:25
With the second of the three booze bans looming at 6pm this evening (Saturday) why not join us at The Olde Bell for a Barbie this afternoon to beat the ban on alcohol sales after 6pm due to the election?
We've got Marinaded Kebabs, Chicken and Pork steaks, Livers, Fish, Seafood, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, and more!
All you can eat for 100 baht!
We've also got special offers on that well known Irish Stout, Olde Bell Draught Brown Ale and Thai Lion Beer!
It all starts around 2pm and ends with the ban at around 6pm ish!!
