I usually arrive in Thailand on a different flight than my wife, so I always used the foreigner's queue. However, last time my wife and I arrived together and she got into the Thai queue while I waited in the foreigners' queue. After that we were told that I could use the Thai line because we are married. So this time around I went to the Thai queue with her, but the agent seemed to be very irritated. I'm not sure if I was really allowed in that queue or not.
Are spouses allowed to use the Thai queue?

Trang Visitor Questions
2011-12-24 05:44:55
I'm seriously considering going to Trang on my next trip to Thailand. However, I know very little of it.
I was hoping to be able to do a Trang -> Lanta -> Phi Phi -> Phuket itinerary.
What I'm currently unsure of is if there is a Trang -> Lanta ferry.
And what are in Trang we should stay.
I see Koh Lipe looks nice, but I worry I will get bored with both Phi Phi and Lipe on the itinerary. Are there nice places (beaches/scenery) on the Trang mainland to stay?
If I do opt to stay on Lipe, How's the Trang airport -> Lipe transfer. Also is there a Lipe -> Lanta passenger ferry?
Thanks
Dave.

Materials Prices Going Up?
2011-11-06 05:41:33
Before the flood, I was planning on helping with some drywall repair for my sister-in-law. Now that the flood has reached her house, I suspect I will help with a little more than that.
Does anyone have any idea how the prices for materials will change? Of course, they will go up, but by how much? Has anyone noticed any changes thus far?
Thanks.

Isaan Tourist Things To Do
2011-11-01 10:55:48
I've never been up to Isaan before, although I am intrigued about it.
Are there tourist things to do in Isaan? Site seeing? Good national parks?
For a first time visitor to that region, what must he see and do?
Thanks,
Dave.

Is Booking Mixed Origin Airline Tickets Possible?
2011-09-21 06:05:22
My Thai in-laws have US visas. They don't speak English too well, so the last time they visited the US, I also paid for my niece to come and escort them through the transit terminal, immigration, and customs.
Instead of doing this, I'd like to go to Thailand, stay a while for a vacation, then have them return with me for a visit. However, I'm finding it difficult to book, in a single transaction, round trip flights originating from the US, and round trip flights originating in Bangkok. I want them to be in the same transaction so I can guarantee that the in-laws are on the same flights. I'm afraid if I book my tickets first, then have someone in Bangkok book their tickets, they may find the flights I take unavailable.
When I talked to a travel agent in the US, she said she cannot even book tickets originating outside the US. WTF?
Does anyone have any experience doing this?
Thanks.
