#5266960 Iran Condemns Quran Burning By Florida Pastor Terry Jones

Posted Yunla on 2012-05-02 07:20:30

I condemn the use of the Koran in the Beslan school attack in 2004. The book was openly on display in the home-movies the terrorists made, chapters of it were ritually chanted to the room full of imprisoned children. The children were forced to drink their own urine for 3 days, in a room wired with explosives, while listening to black clad maniacs reading chapters of the Koran, before being machine-gunned on the floor.
334 people died there, including 156 children. After the attack, many people in the media said the attack was not related to islam. How anyone can say that when they were reading from the Koran during the whole siege is unbelievable.
In my opinion, the day after that seige/massacre of children, everybody should basically have took a long look at their faiths and realised that religion is the purest DIVISIVE agent on the planet. It takes a human species born almost identical across the globe, and makes them bitterly divided. Scientific viewpoints such as mine is that we are not only citizens of the Earth, but citizens of the Universe, and to fight each other and murder children over which book we personally like best is ridiculous & tragic. I don't agree with burning korans, or burning bibles, but those books belong in libraries and museums & not in the modern world. They are agents of division, they cause people to view others a different and/or inferior and unless people understand that we are one species under the sun, not one group under a book, we will keep freewheeling to WW3 with the brakes off.

#5256747 10 Years For Dutch Man Who Impregnated 11-Year-Old Daughter

Posted koheesti on 2012-04-28 14:30:40

Quote

Prosecutors said the victim's accounts are very similar to those made by Calix's other daughter from a previous marriage, who was raped by her father at least five times in 1994. Calix served two years in prison for the abuse in the 90s.

See? This is why these child abusers need to receive the death penalty. There is no CURE. It isn't a disease. It is hard-wired into them as are all other sexual preferences. Since they will never change and will continue to destroy the lives of young children, there is no reason taxpayers should waste their money giving these disgusting people 3 meals/day + free medical. The only reasonable solution is to execute them. Feed them to the hogs and use them as fertilizer later because that's all they are good for.

#4903808 Chiang Mai Immigration - 90 Day Report

Posted mcgriffith on 2011-12-10 20:48:23

The OP is correct in that Imm didn't use to ask for a copy of the last entry stamp in the passport.
They started asking for it about a year ago. Probably the uni interns that work at Imm who handle mailed in TM47's were letting you slide on that, Wentworth.
I admit it is a little silly- the departure card has the identical same stamp, done at the same time on entry into Thailand, done about 1/2 second apart.....B)
I lucked out with the confluence of entry stamp and retirement extension stamp in my last iteration- they're both on the same passport page.:)

I stapled the departure card on the adjacent page, and it is one photocopy.
Along with the face page, that makes 2 photocopies.

Those 2 photocopies, along with the previous TM47 stub (the bottom part of the TM47 which is torn off the application, that has the renewal date stamped in RED) are all that is required.
For mail notification, add the SAE (self addressed envelope) with a 5 B stamp.

(I haven't been asked for a copy of the original visa (issued outside of Thailand) on which my annual extension is based. Nor copies of all my passport pages.
That is not required for a 90 day address report, only when renewing the annual extension).

WETV is an appalling service, yes they've changed the channels without any notification, the web site today is still showing January's schedule and no information of the changes.

The picture and audio can be bloody awful, many times films are shown without any audio at all, or films are cut short.

Why does anyone subscribe to such a service, I'm cancelling mine.

Surely the answer is to call her a buffalo (in similar circumstances), and see how she reacts?

If she gets angry and insulted you know she did not intend it as a term of endearment. If, on the other hand, she has no problem with being called a buffalo - it is reasonable to assume that she did not intend to insult you.

#4998235 Are You Kicking Yourself For Going Back?

Posted jamescollister on 2012-01-23 01:38:37

Going back to OZ in Feb. for 3 months. Not my idea, the wife wants the kids to pick up their English. Went back last Xmas for 3 months, lasted 6 weeks. Too expensive and boring as hell, as all you know are working 6 days a week and happy they have a job. Rather stay in my jungle, drinking piss and playing with the kids. Now I will have to fine a job of some sorts, just to keep food on the table..Lived in the UK, OZ , Canada and NZ. All life was about what you did and how much you had. No time to just live. Jim

When you say "the whole place", where exactly do you mean? If you're referring to the West Bank then blame the Israelis.

Yours seems like a rather arbitrary comment.

Don't bring the Israelis into this one. A sick father locked his daughter up for 9 years over "family differences". No reason to bring politics into it.

I think Steely invited the political slant on this one! Why is the whole place like a prison camp Steely?

As for the Father, he needs locking up in a small cell for 9 years without seeing the sun.

#4992441 U.S. prosecutors shut down Megaupload, arrest four in New Zealand

Posted KKK on 2012-01-20 12:51:10

A completly futile attempt at stamping out piracy. Close this one and another opens....The only way of beating this is for the copyright holders to provide the same service as the pirates at a reasonable fee. hard to find legitimate copies of anything in Thailand other than the top rated movies. and a lot of those have been heavily censored. Try and buy them from Amazon and you'll get 100% import duty on arrrival in Thailand making the Thai government the biggest pirate around.....

#4992080 1.2 Million Thais Are Addicted To Drugs

Posted JurgenG on 2012-01-20 10:29:40

I hope people will now understand why so many Thai people back the "war on drug" despite whatever bleeding heart (and hypocritical) democrats have to say.

Drug addicts are victims and sick people who should be helped. Dug traffickers and all those who, directly and indirectly, profit from their traffick are the worst form of criminal, at the same level as peadophile and should be treated accordingly. I really don't understand people who, for petty political gain, oppose the war on drug. I guess most of them are users Posted Image which may explain the disfunction of their brain.

What a shambles. :bah: This type of thing only happens in a banana republic. If true, new director should be sacked, publicly disgraced, and be made to personally reimburse shafted students and apologise.

No it doesn't only happen in a banana republic, and in any case thailand does not qualify for your choice of epithet. It can happen anywhere where someone in authority gets blinded by their anger. Emotional reactions such as yours are hardly conducive to finding solutions. They will just serve to fuel whatever blind anger already exists.

I would anticipate that once the media get involved, a solution may be found. It appears we have a VIP who will only see sense when forced to by the relevant government body/institution.

It does seem a total shambles for the PR of CMU though. The moral of the story is that institutions can spend ages building up respect and authority and can lose it in the blink of an eye through the actions of one or two individuals.

Try the row of shops east side of Chotana intersection on the superhighway frontage road, south side.  I've seen manual push mowers, Talon brand.

In addition to clearing your browser cache, ensure you also clear your local machine DNS cache with:

dscacheutil -flushcache

This is the OSX equivalent of the Windows "ipconfig /flushdns" command.

Additionally, I recommend installing the Google Chrome browser.   If find it extremely superior to both Safari and Firefox on both of my Macbooks.  (Not to mention, way faster on my Win7 netbook).
