All you tourist/residents of Pattaya that have these social media at hand.....why not use it to put more falangs at the scene. Spoters could be used to alert falangs that a possible scam was possible and its location. Then a second alert that it was on.
What are these social media etc..myspace, facebook ?
How many falangs at the scene might make a difference. With Thais it makes a difference. I wonder how many falangs would show up. Can you imagine several hundred falangs gathered looking down the throats of those Thais.
And as we all know Thais cant recognize one frang from another. It might just confuse the hell out of them so that the customers could make thier getaway.
Just my two cents as I dont have any of these social media.

Atm Out Of Country Problem
2011-05-23 10:57:31
The long story of what could happen to you when using an ATM out of country from the original bank.
I went to Cambodia from Thailand and used my Thai bank card at ANZbank(sp) in Cambodia. I wanted several hundred dollars as I had no US dollas. Everything was normal as the machine tried counting the money out several times. Failed to give the money and spit out my receipt showing money taken from my account with a note at the bottom saying it would be refunded.
The hotel manager says I will get my money refunded. Later the bank manager in Cambodia said on two separate days I would get it back. When I asked about when the answer was muffled with a 70 working days reply. The inconvience was stressful and ruined my trip. A day after this failure I did use another ATM with same banks with no problem.
The reason maybe that the money was transfered to Cambodia then the ATM did not have enough funds. Only a receipt was given.
So the 70 business days turned out to be 3 callendar months. Returned to the exact baht WITHOUT A SERVICE CHARGE.
Advice is to use small amounts and pay the extra service charges.

Black Pest In Tap Water
2011-01-31 17:18:14
For months I have endured a black sludge material along with small flesh colored worms and a clear sludge in my tap water. These types of sludge tend to attract and form balls. Anyway I complained several times and finally went to have my own test done etc.
It is "Moina macrocopa" AKA water flea. I was told it is common in Thailand and not harmful to humans. Fish love to eat it I guess. Could not find anything on internet that points to it being harmful in humans.
Here is a pic...enjoy
