Chonburi Immigration Office, Jompthien

2012-02-29 17:04:43

I have a 90-day report coming up in March but I have a small problem in that I shall be in Bangkok from Mondays - Fridays for a few weeks.  I'm not changing my 'permanent' address so I won't be able to use the Bangkok immigration office.

Does anyone know if the Jompthien office opens on Saturday mornings?  I want to avoid having to be in Pattaya when I'm supposed to be in Bangkok, even if it is only for one day, but I shall be in Pattaya at the weekends.

Alternatively, do the Jompthien office accept postal reports?  If so, what do I need to send them?

I've looked at the Chonburi Immigration website but, frankly, it's a POS.  There is an English version but none of the links seem to work and I can't find the info. that I need.

Thanks,

Acer Lcd Monitor Problem

2012-02-04 09:00:30

I'm having a problem with my Acer AL1515 monitor.  Sporadically, the configuration menu keeps popping up and, of course, when this happens the centre portion of the normal windows display is obscured.

Some days, this will happen frequently - the menu stays up for between 10 seconds and about a minute before disappearing, only to pop up again almost immediately.  Other days, this happens maybe only once or twice.  It's very annoying as it renders the PC useless while the menu is being displayed.  When I'm having this trouble, the button controls on the front of the monitor are inoperable - can't even turn the monitor off without removing the mains plug!

There doesn't seem to be any correlation with time of day or with how long the system has been running or with anything else that i can fathom.  It just seems to be random.

I suspect that there is a hardware fault with the monitor itself and I may have to replace it - it's quite old anyway but, apart from the problem described, works perfectly still.  Before I splash out on a replacement I'd like to be sure that it isn't a fault with the graphics adapter that's causing the problem.  I'm sure that the fault isn't virus-related as it sometimes occurs even before windows is loaded.  It happens on both of my WinXP installations and I've seen it on Linux Wary Puppy as well when I load this from a USB stick.

Anyone have any suggestions or should I just bin the monitor?

Running WinXP SP3
Monitor is Acer AL1515
Motherboard is LM-M266A-SVLP, VIA Chipset, Intel P4 2.4GHz
Graphics adapter is part of the motherboard

Thebox.Bz

2012-01-23 11:09:46

Hi

I've recently joined TheBox.bz but, frankly, I'm finding it less than useful.  I have managed to download some content but I cannot seem to get my ratio up to the required level as normally absolutely no peers are connecting.  There are often quite a few in the swarm but I get zero connections.  This is never a problem when using public trackers so I assume that there is nothing wrong with my set-up - speeds are set appropriately and ports are forwarded and I have a static LAN IP address.

I've tried downloading the 'free' content from their site - which is supposed to 'guarantee' lots of peers to upload to without counting as extra download.  This doesn't work - there are no torrents that I can find where there are more leechers than seeders, even on very new content.  I can download the 'free' content OK but cannot upload as I still get very few peer connections and normally none at all.

I'm using uTorrent 2.2.1 and Windows XP Pro SP3.  I have tried uTorrent 3.1 but it appears to be bugged - excessive CPU burden - so I have reverted to 2.2.1 for now.  My ISP is TOT, 7Mbps/512kbps - works OK most of the time.

Anyone out there having the same problem with TheBox?  Any solutions, other than buying some download credit?

Thanks,

DM

Frank Cooper'S Marmalade

2011-11-21 13:58:32

My moo of a wife has just thrown out my last jar of Frank Cooper's Oxford Marmalade - and it was only about 10% used and in perfect condition!  For this unforgivable sin she will have to be terminated with extreme prejudice but that is not really the point.

Has anyone seen Frank Cooper's Marmalade - of whatever cut - in any of the shops in the Pattaya/Jompthien area?  I've seen some poor imitations from time to time but I crave the real stuff.  I know it's going to be expensive but it's a must-have item!

Thanks,

DM

Translation Required

Can someone please translate this into English.

It's taken from a hospital appointment card and i think is something to do with not eating and drinking and needing to have a relative accompany me.

I've tried Google Translate but it doesn't make a lot of sense, as usual.
