My wife owns a large restaurant. She says that in connection with the registration of the business, or something like that, she has to prove that she is married to somebody; Thai or farang. Consequently, she needs a copy of id-card / photo page of a passport.
Obviously, I said I AM NOT SIGNING ANYTHING. She said no, no, you don't have to sign anything, or do anything at all, I just need a copy of your passport. I use my wife's id-card every time I extend my visa. It seems unreasonable to refuse her.
It seems highly unlikely, but I just can't help worrying a little bit that there is some sort of joint resposibility, for something, involved.
Maybe somebody in this forum has come across this proof of marrige thing in connection with business ?

Best Gov. School In Pattaya
2011-12-14 11:31:21
Which is the best gov., Prathom level (grade 1 - 6), school in Pattaya (or if you prefer; least bad) ?
As a rule of thumb the biggest school in an area is usually best and small schools attached to a tempel are often best avoided.
Anybody has any ideas ?

Thai Books On Cd ?
2011-12-11 12:13:36
Books on CD are common in farangland, but they don't seem to be so common here in Thailand. I have found religious stuff, educational things for children and students of Thai and some children's books. I have have, however, failed to find novels, Thai or translated works of foreign writers. Does anybody know if there are books on CD in Thai ?

Imm. To Visit My Home Before 1 Year Marrige Visa ?
2011-08-31 12:51:27
Nakhon Sawan immigration has accepted my paper work for 1 year non-o marrige visa.
But they still didn't give me the full 1 year. I only got a preliminary 1 month visa because they had to visit my home and interview me and my wife and one of our neighbours before they issued the full visa.
I suppose they want to check if it is a marrige of convenience. I doesn't worry me. Ours is not a marrige of conveniece and we do live together in our house (when I am not off teaching).
But I am still curious. I have never heard of people being interviewed at home by immigration police. Is this common ?
