I've been seeing these tablet computers for about US$100.
They run Android. The display is less than spectacular. Definitely not a replacement for a full computer, but I would consider getting one for being on the go. Primary use would be to read ebooks and pdf files of maps, maybe music player if it has headphone jack.
If it can connect to wifi, then to check email and maybe use a web browser.
Anyone have one of these things? How do you get your data onto it- usb port? Bluetooth?

Good Place For Issan Bar-B-Q In Bangkok
2012-05-21 08:39:03
I have some friends visiting in Bangkok for a few days and would like to take them somewhere for chicken and som tam. I'd prefer something informal like street stalls with tables (as opposed to an air conditioned restaurant), and somewhere convenient (meaning near BTS or MRT) and central. Would prefer to not have to take them to Ratchadamri. I like the street places on Petchaburi Rd west of Pratunam, but those places tend to focus on seafood.
A few years back someone took me to Sutthisan (I think), and there was lots of activity. Any place like this there?

Buying Bus Tickets, But Not At The Terminal
2012-05-16 09:41:52
Is there a way to buy bus tickets in Bangkok without having to go out to Mo Chit, Sai Tai Mai, etc?
Now that they issue electronically printed tickets (as opposed to hand-written paper chits) I would think it allows them to have several issuing sites. Or even online?
I recently bought a train ticket online, was impressed with how well the whole process went, even with my overseas credit card.

Getting A 1Tb Drive
2012-05-04 17:33:36
My laptop currently has a 300Gb drive. With all my pics, movies etc it's kind of tight.
I want to get a 1Tb drive, and I'm trying to decide if I should install it or keep it external. Trying to consider the pros and cons.
Two years ago I installed a 500Gb WD Scorpio Blue, and about a year later it I started getting some SMART warnings, so pulled it out for external storage and put the older, smaller hd back in. I've been wondering if the wear and tear of being the primary drive did it in.
Any of you out there using 1Tb internal in your laptops?
