Just spend five minutes of your life watching this.

It explains a lot.

@osten:

>But what was the lesson learned? Stay away from walking on desolate sois without anyone else around.

You STILL didn't learn the right lesson. The lesson is, you don't walk around in the wee hours on desolate sois carrying valuables and, of all things, stopping to show off one of those valuables , in effect saying, "Come 'n' get it, boys!"

Can't believe you've lived in Thailand 8 years. More like Fresh Off The Boat. Seems you've been very, very lucky over the years.

Savers are no longer welcome nor required in the banks. They are just a pain in the arse.

They dont need pennies that they need to pay interest for when they can get from the FED billions interest free to go play in the casinos ;)

I never imagined I would read an article like this In this day and age

Evidence is mounting that thousands of children in the UK are not getting enough food to eat – and that, as financial hardship spreads, their numbers are increasing rapidly

FareShare, a charity that redistributes surplus supermarket food, says soup kitchens, hostels and community groups are struggling to meet demand from parents and young people "desperate" for handouts. Since October, 42 per cent of the groups it works with have faced rising demand for food.

I realise that my opinion is utterly politically incorrect.

But if you can't afford to have brats then you should not produce them.

Why should anybody, just because they can arrange the meeting of sperm and egg, bring their brats into the world and expect other people to pay for them?

I decided not to have brats because I wanted the freedom to live my life at my expense.

I fail to see why I should be involved in the upbringing of other peoples' brats in any way, shape or form. Or even be concerned about them.

I would dispute the idea that it is a basic human right to have brats when you do not have the financial and intellectual ability to feed and educate them without state support.

Actually if you read the article it says that there is some remission of the DM in 75% of patients, not at all the same as curing all cases. And the patient population studied were seriously obese. The results cannot be generalized to people of normal or just slightly over weight.

As the surgery has its risks, and it is only performed on very  obese people.

I would be contacting an attorney for invasion of privacy and violation of constitutional rights. The balls of someof these jerks.

i wouldn't call a five year long period "short term".

anyone else think we are on the edge here ...

Either the Euro muddles through and the USD declines , markets rise etc .. as Bernanke indicated in his press conference

or there is some event in Europe that triggers an almighty crash ...panic .. !!

I think that they will be able to hold the markets together for now ( hence the rise of the Euro ) but are they! just kicking the can for an even bigger problem or will kicking the can give time for markets to heal ?

listen ..

A bit annoying are the ones that walk into your home or office (talking about some of our streetside shophouse properties that aren't shops) without knocking or ringing the doorbell.    'Before you ask me what the name of God is, you need to back the hell up.'

:)

That's one of the few things that really gets under my skin.  I'm up in Issan, goto the night market, and see a bunch of mormons wandering around offering "free English lessons".  Ughh... in my mind, that's the height of arrogance.  You're a guest in a foreign country that's like 99.5% Buddhist, and you proceed to wander around basically telling everyone their beliefs aren't right, so they should listen to you, because your beliefs are the way to go.

I have a difficult time thinking of something more arrogant and pompous than that.

Those denials have been revealed as lies. Insiders say he openly favored the hate speech focus of his newsletters because they made him much more money. That's the morality of this cult leader so many of you have fallen under.
who cares at the end of the day he is the only politician that speaks the truth even though it is inconvenient for so many.
America is broke, skint and a lot of money could be saved by not fighting ridiculous wars in other countries.
When you think about it, Vietnam was a failure, Iraq was a total failure, Libya is a failure,Afghanistan is a failure.
This is why what he says makes so much sense-stop the Wars and get the troops to properly police
the Mexican USA border.
